I had something similar happen to my T180 esc on my set up. I thought it was possibly going into protect mode due to amp overload? I was spinning a big prop on a large boat with a 4084 on 6s. It would work fine until I got all the way to W.O.T. (rolling it on very slowly), and then slow down to about half throttle the rest of the time. I would bring it in, un plug the batteries (nothing was hot), plug it back in and it would reset (until i tried W.O.T. again) so not sure if it was a low volt issue, but I could be wrong. I've only used this set up one time.
Hk Genesis running warm need help.

i actually have ran the stock motor with a t180 about 20 times,
ive just switched it to a 4074 2200kv (2150) and it runs.... exactly the same speed except when i brought the boat in the motor was actually the same temperature as the ...... water!
just about to try another prop.
Im unsure why your boat is porposing with the bats that far forward, if you move them back its going to get worse not better.Comment

rdmanone, that happens when your ESC is not bound to accept the throttle range of your transmitter. I learned that even after binding it if you plug the ESc in before the transmitter is turned on, the T180 clears its self and you have to re bind it again.
iamandrew, yeah, I run my 2200 with a x440 prop when I want longer run times and don't want to stress the electronics. Running 4S, 2P I get over 10 minutes of run time. When I run an x445 I get jut over 8. For the hell of it, I'll be trying 6S, 2P in the boat next time out with an x438 just to play it safe.Comment

I think the problem that I am having with the porpoising was my fault. This is my first boat and was unsure how the flex shaft came out. So I tried to pull it out of the rear of the strut. REAL STUPID. I pulled on the shaft a little too hard and the stuffing shaft pulled out of the boat and the strut pulled kinda upwards putting stress on the transom where it bolted on. I pushed everything back into place but not far enough and I was running it like it was trimmed up too high causing it to porpoise. I have pushed it back a little more and now I am waiting on the new setup, motor and prop, to see what happens. Now the speed control not sure I now that I always turn on the transmitter before I plug it in. I am going to try check the programming I just pulled it out of the box and turned it on never checked it. Thanks again guys, Mick.Comment

Also regarding the stuffing tube. I noticed that where it fits into the strut the clearance is not that tight and water shoots in as I am running pushing all the grease along with water into the hull at the other end. Do I need to put some epoxy in it or is that normal? Thanks, Mick.Comment

Its possible to side some heatshrink over this and then attach the strut again
Having said that I done it to my boat, but it sometimes slides off the strut because its all greasy under it.
The reason I done it was because I realised that if i was flooring the boat, i found that i was getting water inside the hull. After I done the heat shrink i didnt get any more water in the boat
are you going to run 6S with the 2200KV jack?
:D:D:D hahahahah OHHH yeahhhh!Comment

Andrew, yeah I pan to run my 2200 on 6s. Were going down to San Diego this weekend and I will be running it in the bay. So I will have plenty of room to open it up in a straight line. I'll make sure to have the camera rolling to ether catch the fire or the fury! :DComment

Running T180 with Leopard 2200Kv on 4S1P and 4S2P.
Anyone has the CG measurements for this hull? I know mine is running wet.Comment
