Here is another tool that may help grow FE Membership in your local club/ district: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...-Pond-Near-You.

Make sure to put contact info and/or a link to your club website when adding a new pond location to the directory.

LarrysDrifter. I know you posted back in April but a lot has happened in Dist 6 since then. Not sure where you live as their are now several active clubs since the expansion. If you live in Minnesota the TCMBC will be running electric RTR. P-Limited sport hydro, and P-Limited Tunnel in 2102. We would be very happy to have you race with us in 2012. Bill

Offer to help organize races, take entries etc.
Simply ask what can I do to help, it goes a long way.

My story is a simple one.
We ( a small group of FE guys) were asked not to come back to the city park where we were members of the Southeast Model Boaters.
I contacted the Atlanta Model Boaters and asked if we could come and play. Unlike some of the clubs out there the nitro participation in the GP series was down so they gave us two classes. We raced P Mono and LSH the first season. We did all of the above. We were a big part of making things happen as far as getting work done and just generally helping out.
By the end of the first season we had two gas guys running LSH and one of them had a P Mono.
The rest is history. We race five classes in the series and if we wanted another one all I'd have to do is ask.
Just go and do, by all means don't be a PITA, and the rest will take care of itself.
        Doug

Great input here, kudos to Chilli and Doug for mentioning the "extras" that can be done to allow a closer association with the district IC races. Very well said. Tactically, until FE participation expands enough to allow stand-alone FE race dates, piggy-backing classes in IC dates has worked well in D19. In this year alone, four IC races, including the Gas/Nitro Nat's allowed one or two FE classes to run and have opened the eyes of several Gas/Nitro racers to rigging up FE raceboats. This weekind is the Annual D19 Meeting and Awards Banquet in Laughlin, NV. I'm making the 700 mile round trip simply to "represent". I won't get a jacket or any wood but my (and Mr. Newland's) presence will serve to demonstrate that we are a "part of" and we support racing in general. That's how its done. If your district's are having their meeting and banquet this month and it's anywhere near feasable, saddle up and attend. You'll be glad you did
