Definitely could use some caps. Is it hard to replace. Looks like a tight spot to try and solder them in.

Even though it wont power on, do you guys think its still good? Or just replace caps and go from there?

Looks like you need new caps or just get T-180 for your set up.
IMO 120 may be a little to littlle for your set up...

I ordered a T-180 and some caps to try and get the 120 back up and running. I was watching the vid of my run when it happened and I honestly don't know why they would pop. No blipping of the throttle constantly, just a 1/4 throttle run for 20 seconds and that's it. Needless to say I was a little mad when it happened cause I just spent friggan 80 bucks on the new esc, and didn't get a chance to really use it.

Cut the shrink wrap off so you can inspect the rest of the esc. As for the caps, you can solder them to the power wires close to the esc.

Was there water flow through the cooling system? More important, what is your set-up??

My set-up is all stock in the UL-1 except the ESC, 2-2s 20c 5000mah batteries. I was using a 40mm Graupner carbon filled prop. If you want I can post the 20 second vid showing how it was run just so you can see that it wasn't ran hard at all.

I cut the shrink wrap off and all looks good except the caps. Hopefully putting new caps on it wont be that hard.

I've been shooting email back and forth with Jan at Kintec, and he is an AWESOME guy to deal with. He has taken care of my situation and I even purchased a new T180 and some other stuff from him. By far the best service I have dealt with in a long, long time. SO BIG KUDOS TO JAN AND KINTEC RACING!

Installing new caps should fix the problem.
Still not sure why would 120 Amp ESC on stock UL-1 go bad...
UL-1 works great on 40X52/3 blade GrimRacer prop...

I popped the caps on a T120 in my P-mono last year. I just cut the old ones off and added a etti cap bank - works better than ever.

Did you just add the big one? That's awesome! So what cap or caps should I get, or what cap bank should I get to try and fix the Seaking 120?

Remove the caps off your speedo and install 3 of these. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...k-cap-35v-1000 if the speedo is hosed new caps will do nothing.

                          1/4 throttle for too long.

In my case 1 extra cap was installed just in case but you can remove yours and install new ones to the battery wires of your esc close to it. Longer cap leg goes with +, red wire....
                            Cheers

I can stay 1/4 throttle with the stock esc 10 times longer. Why wouldn't that one fry, but the 120 would. I put the stock esc back in yesterday, and I was in and out of the throttle alot, plus doing 1 mile runs at 1/4 throttle with no hiccups. Maybe the stock esc is bullet proof I've been beating the piss out of it the last two days

                                bad soldering
                                not fully charged battery
failed to calibrate throttle first run
                                timing too high
1/4 throttle had boat wet.. lotsa draw then
many reason you can sh ite an esc first time out.

why waste 80 on SK120 when a few more coin gets the T180.. far better choice.
