well Diesel i'm gonna remove my tabs and just cover the holes with some tape for a quick test run with my 1717 this time since it should be here any day now. I will report back, mine was real close to getting on plain, i think i can get it going!! I will put a straight edge on my hull and check that out though, good call on that guys!!

Hi. I have the same problem on the "hooked" bottom but mine is quite deep as 6mm on the lowest point. I think this is the problem with the initial lot. My friend was just recently received his and the hull bottom looks a lot better than mine.

I actually fill-up the hooked bottom with resin and sand it to try to make a straight line at the bottom. The boat now running quite alright with the Feigao 580XL and x450 prop. However, it is still tend to dive a bit when fully turned. So, it still won't give me a confident when running at full throttle.

I'm going to shelf this one as well and replaced with a potential better hull from below...

Yep. HOR carries TFL Hobbies products. They are typically good quality. ( so does OSE )

I'm sure the rails on this size hull would help keep it straight under load.

I Got the hull a few days ago from D. After really looking over the hull and comparing it with my other DF Copy 40 mono I noticed a few things that would really hurt the plaining issue everyone seems to be having...The strut is 1 1/4" shorter than my 40" mono built by fuller fast electrics....Also the rudder bracket extension is 1" shorts aswell. And this hull isn't straight either....Also its crazy thin, even after Dale re-inforced the bottom with more fiberglass. I may just gut this hull, install some C/F for more strenth and a rail style 1717 mount from FighterCat!

Check out Promise hobby on e-bay....Have owned 3 hulls from them and so far I've been very happy with the strenth and lines of the hull.

Here my layout, i epoxied in a piece of ply above the stuffing tube so i can strap 2 3s 5000mah on it with the battery tray that i screwed to the ply. then the other 2 are velcro'd directly to the floor. 1717 no jacket because it doesn't fit the mount, BUT its just for testing to see if this hull is even worth me putting any more money/effort in to!! At least i know the weight is all in the back so there is NO reason it should be running nose heavy at all!! Wont be able to test untill my new .187 flex shows up though..........

The problem with imperfections like a hook in the hull is the faster you try to make it go the more effect of the hook holding the hull down. Martin.

I think my 29" fine design mono has this hook problem,
if i hit a wake it trys to bob up on plane, but sucks back down.

upload it to youtube then post a link here. Since there isn't a youtube button in the editor, use this bbscode; (just type out the line and insert the vid number between the brackets. )

                          Code:
[y*t] you tube vid number [/yt]

Remove the * and insert your youtube vid number
Or just post the link that shows up on youtube when you click share. =)

                            Ben,
Have you had any dealings with HOR? Is this the same as person that had the ebay store?

The ebay store is long gone and I have sent email to HOR but never got a reply. Typically I will not deal with someone if they have poor communication.

How do we know if the hull that HOR is offering is any better that the Vanquish hull? Does anybody have proof?

I know him personally, I also know he is friends with the owner of TFL hobbies... He get's most of his supplies from TFL Hobbies. He does some dealer reselling and sometimes I get small supplies from him. He's a good guy to deal with. There's been some reports of lost orders and other misc issues, but I have not personally encountered any.

I do know he's pretty busy, usually has 1,000 or more email backed up...

So, yes, I do know the HOR hull is the TFL hull, also known as the Osprey. =) It's also available with rails, which I think is the best way to go as the rails help solidify the hull.

                                Hi,

Do you know if the HOR Racing is still in business? I've ordered the Osprey hull for over two weeks already but there is still no sign of shipping. I try to contact the store both via contact page and [email protected] but no response. Do you know any other way to contact the store owner?
