There is no replacement for displacement, I guess I just have to Buzz it higher!

Your Correct Doby, I was running the 1800KV motor in mine. However, I have not had a chance to use the new motor cooler design.

I spent the entire racing season (4min heats) running the 1800KV motor, original UL-1 style motor cooler, FlightPower 4350 4S2P, and an Octura 440/3 and my set up never got "hot" (over 110F)

And you are right Doby... I think it run really well too.

          Later,
          Mike

No think'n about it Mike. The boat does run well. I can't wait to see this and the PB cat raced together. We know the Motley works so this summer I say let it all hang out. You know Spence wont be cutting you any slack.

Did the final molds include that adjustment you guys were fiddling with? I looked at Grims boat at the nats but I can't remember. His ran really well too. I think he left some speed on the bench much like you did most of last summer. The nats just wasn't the place to play with a ragged edge prototype setup. That's more my kinda thing.

*Jay did your prototype have that new water jacket on it? How were the temps on the m445.
No, it had the old jacket (which didn't leak). Motor temp on the endbell was about 100*F after 2 minutes running the m445 - but the cat was runing very freely and not in race water. As I recall the water temps were in the low-80s.

One advantage this boat has over the Geico out of the box is the offset rudder. Though, most are modding the Geico strudder. IMO the Geico is much better looking. But, which one will look better in race water?

Here is the Aquacat running the offshore course (with the extra bouy) at the NAMBA 2010 FE Nationals in Greeley Colorado.

If I remember correctly that heat was pretty much a full field, and the water was chopped up pretty good (hence the phrase racewater), also in the video you can see the storm clouds brewing, which further deteriored conditions.

Grim had the aquacat cruising pretty good; however there is some drama down course as you will see in the video link posted below.

Sure does look to be a winner! And though I don't like the theme it could be worse.

I hope the hull is better quality than the UL-1! While the boat runs great, I never could figure out why AQ made such a crappy weak painted hull when they could have had a gelcoated strong hull for about $20 more!
