Best setup for single drive Apparition

For a single drive Apparition are there any proven set ups for good top speed? I want to run it on 6s lipo. I have done a lot of searching/reading as I am new to boats, lipos, and brushless motors but I would like to have a decent running boat in the water by next Sunday(6 days from now). A few of my friends just bought Spartans. We took them out today and they dont seem very fast in stock form but big lipos and prop change are on the way for them. Thanks for any help guys! I really want to bring the pain on these spartans!!!

Youll catch on pretty quick. Lots and lots of great people on here with great advice. Like it sounds you have already, I spend hours on here just surfing around reading anything and everything I can. If you cant find what your looking for, just ask. Someone will know or point you to a specific thread.

Can i ask about the settings in your Etti esc, I have an Etti 45amp on a small Etti 6 pole outrunner motor & need some info on what options to use re throttle options, braking i know to set to no break, Timing again i know to use 7 or 15degrees, pwm i dont know what option to use. So basically its the throttle option whether to use auto or low start or one of the others & what pwm option to use. Thanks Martin.

Low start and Ive never changed the PWM from its default setting for motors Ive run. I read about it and default always fit my application. Cant remember off hand what it does though.

So here is what I have come up with so far for a cheap setup to get me going. (2) Turnigy 3s 4000mah 45-90c Nano batts, Turnigy 180A ESC, and just run the stock 1620kv motor for now. Will this get me up and running for now?

The stock 1620Kv will fry on 6S, it's rated at 5S MAX and even then it might melt.

                          I've run a suppo 3126 1600Kv on 6S and hit 49.7Mph on the first try with a m445.

Next I'm going to try a T600 1400Kv on 6S and a bigger prop... when the water thaws that is...

My exact thoughts as well. That motor will not handle 6S. I wouldnt go more than 4 on it.

Looks like I am going to start it out on a Turnigy 180 esc, two 3s Turnigy Nano 4000mah 45-90c, and the stock motor. Later I will step it up to an outrunner and run it on 6s with M445 prop. Sound good?
