I personally have both the traxxas and tactic Tx/Rx and they both work well. But just out of curiosity would it make a big difference if the antenna in the traxxas rx isn't stuck outside the boat a bit as opposed to left inside the hull.

      Radio : $ 35.00

      Rx's : $ 7.40

      Shipping : FREE

With tax ( I live in CA ; so's Hobbypartz)

      Total : $ 62.78 for 1 Tx & 4 Rx's

This appears to be a rebranded Eargle that R2 sells ; Questtek Joe uses it and I've tried it and it looks good.

      Tony,

Good to hear you like that radio enough to get one yourself. I didn't know Joe had one either.
I just happened to stumble on it myself last week and bought that same transmitter with 2 extra receivers on Monday.

So far I like it, though I haven't used it with a boat yet. Like you mentioned the 10 model memory is a great feature. The menus are relatively easy to access with the jog shuttle style controls. And $7.40 for each extra receiver! Come on!

I had done a little research before I bought it just to make sure it wasn't "too good to be true". There is a 40 page thread on this GT3B radio located HERE on RCTECH.NET and so far the only downside I see with it is limited trim adjustments, which shouldn't affect us boaters too much. We have the ability to center our rudders without needing too much trim. Some were complaining about the Exponential feature not working, but that is something I don't use anyway.

There is a guy from the thread above that is RC kart racing with several of these radios at the same time and not having any glitching or loss of control issues with this radio.
I know some people will want to flame us, because "How good can a $35 transmitter be!" I will be cautious at first just to make sure it doesn't have any build quality issues, after all I don't want to jeopardize one of my boats. Only time will tell for sure, but from what I have seen so far, it looks good.

That was something i originally looked at, but couldnt find any in the states, and i wasnt taking a chance building a $1k boat only to have a cheap rx/tx from over seas mess up and keep me from running.. Ordered a dx3s last night, new in box, with the back light kit and 4 extra receivers (two marine and two telemetry) for $200... all in original packaging in perfect shape...
Limits only exist when one's scared to test them!

My radio came today. Love its looks and feel. No instruction manual, but a vid from Hobbypartz/NitroRCX walks you through it : Prog's quite easily !

Will try on an old warhorse to check it out & then rig my other boats.

              Tony,

You can download a manual from their website at http://www.flysky-cn.com/
It is written in chinglish so it is "fun" reading.

                hey Proper;

It is made by FlySky in good old China.

I have the manual on file and I can send it to you when I get off work late tonight or tomorrow if you wish.

jue need you e-mai l to send it to you.

OR if I can get it to work I can probably attach it on a reply here in this thread.

                Let me know

                thanks

                Carl

by the way, it is a super radio.
I use a 2100mah lipo pack with volt. reg. to get 6 volts. for the rx.

i parked all my radios for 2.4 after my boat and a boat dock had a fight, but a radio with prog models in 2.4,it wont be to long before i can scrap up some funds, im tired of adjusting for tx controls, when you have so many boats its work, my only fm futaba let me down on a new boat, never again will a cheap radio cost me a fg patch
