that motor is a wee bit over kill for that hull a 35mm prop is probably on the small side of what it is capable of so you have some breathing room, if more speed is needed remember adjustments to the cg will be needed to keep it planted

yeah i think i will put the batteries as far back on both sides of the boat. how fast do you think it will be on 4cell with the leopard and stock 35mm prop? as long as its faster than a 380 on 3cell i will be happy. also the smaller prop will keep the temps down.
here is a picture of what i mean aout the batteries but they will probably be further back. thanks

To go much faster you need to put a bigger prop on. Even though your putting a bigger motor in on 4s your dropping the kv down quite a bit so the unloaded rpm is about the same as your 380 motor on 3s. If your doing around the same max rpm theirs not going to be much difference in speeds on your 35mm prop. It will excellerate faster on the bigger motor because it will have more torque but to increase speeds you either need to go with bigger props with more pitch or if useing small props you need to go with higher kv motors to give higher rpm. The boat will only go as fast as the rpm your turning at a given size prop. Thanks Martin.

That leopard is going to be overkill, and you can't prop up in this hull because of the propwalk you may get. Try ul1 power on a x440 or a ammo 3650 2300 on a x437/3 or x438. Just like to small of a motor can limit performance to much motor can hinder performance as well. That 3674 isn't the best option. With that small of a prop and that size hull you won't be utilizing the motor to it's potential meaning you will be hauling around extra weight for no reason and no extra speed gain. A smaller motor with higher kv like the ammo 2300 may yield better results. JMO

how fast would the ammo 2300 be on 4cell ? i am looking to go faster than the stock 380 on 3cell and keep the stock prop on it.

hey everyone i am still stuck on motor choice. I want it to go around 40-45mph. which one of these motors would be better to get the prince to 40-45mph ?? leopard 36x50 2290 or the ammo 36x50 2300. both on 4sell. and also i dont really want too much heat running it at that speed. answers will help alot thanks

i am leaning towars the leopard cause i rekon it wont heat up as much as the ammo when i use x437/3 balde prop and they should both be the same speed. let me know what you guys think about either the ammo or leopard??? thanks

To get to those speeds you are going to have to use bigger props than the stock 35mm prop you have. In the video it says he is useing an x637 which has 2.33" of pitch your 35mm prop has 1.92" of pitch. On your stock prop youll probably get around 40mph max with either of these 2 motors on a x637 youll get around 45-46 mph. 35mm is to small for these motors. Thanks Martin

yeah i was going to upgrade the prop to that one but im not sure if it will fit on the stock flex shaft do you know if it will? which motor would run cooler with the x637 prop? what about the 8xl or is that just too fast?

Here is one of those hulls from a guy in our club with an 8Xl & an X440/3 blade on 4s

thanks. thats pretty fast. do you know if the motor heated up much during that run with the x440/3 blade prop. so do you think the 8xl would be the best motor? also would the 8xl be able to work with a 125amp esc? would you be able to send me a link to one of these motors so i can se the price and specs. thanks alot

i think i might be going with the leopard 36x50 2290kv with the x637 prop and hopefully that will get the speed of my boat up to around the 50mph mark without getting too hot aswell thats the issue. But i was talking to martin and he recommends the leopard because everyone is saying how cool the motors run but are still fast motors but were they using the x637 prop thats the question?? lol matt
