What's the best 540 brushless motor for 25" prince answers will be appreciated

Hi everyone, just wondering what would be the best 540 brushless motor for a 25" brushless prince boat? I want it to go as fast as it can as long as the hull handles the speed lol. I also want it to run not too hot. Not sure what batteries I would be running but I was hoping you could tell me that with the choice of motor. And also I don't want to spend to much because I have to sell a brand new 380xl that hasn't even arrived yet. Also sell another 380 and 2x 3cell batteries. So the money I get from that will be for a motor and batteries. Thanks alot answers would be much appreciated even if the motor is too expensive I will take anything into consideration
    Thanks alot

If your going for a bigger motor & higher voltage ie 4s 14.8v which i believe is the max to use in this hull youll probably need to replace the esc with a higher amp one as well. Thanks Martin.

well i think the 125amp esc can hold anywhere between 2-7 cell lipo so yer ill just try this one for now then i will upgrade if its crap.

Yes the 125amp esc should br fine on 4s, I didnt realise you had a 125amp esc. Most of the various versions of this hull all be it they use a different name for the boat only fit a 70amp esc. Thanks Martin.

Yeah it should. My mate came up with a good motor choice it's a leopard 2200kv on 2x2cells in series to Make 4cell. When I ran it on 3cell with the 380L motor I thought it was fast but needed more speed so hopefully the leopard 2200kv on 4cell will give me more speed on 4cell without overheating. What do you think??? Thanks matt

The Leopard motors are very good also a reasonable price, The 380 motor on 3s would probably give a max of around low to mid 30s mph. This bigger Leopard motor on 4s would probably give around low to mid 40s mph on 4s with a bigger prop Thanks Martin.

Yeah I think that's plenty of speed for a 25" hull! Would the hull handle that motor alright I can't see any reason why not everyone is liking the way these hulls handle so yer what do u think??? Also would that motor heat up much with stock prop it's 35mm in diameter??? Thanks

You would probably see less heat on the smaller 35mm prop than on a bigger prop because their less load so drawing lower amps but the the trade of would be lower speed because of the smaller prop that has less pitch. A friend of mine has one of the various versions of this same hull that he has just put a 540 size motor but only an FSD make motor in & on 4s & he is running on the stock 35mm prop with no problems. Thanks Martin.

I plan on using a Tacon 3650 2950kv on 2s or maybe 3s with 120 ESC in similar DF clone hull . Already have the motor in a 25 Rio and it runs great on 2s with 40 or 42mm prop. (I prefer the 40.) 3s a little too much for the Rio hence the reason to go to the DF clone.

                      Great motor for the price

I race with a feigao 540 6L or 7L with 2s and its very fast. But that requires a 240 esc and 200 amp draw batteries.

The Feigao motors do seem to run a lot hotter than some other make motors. Thanks Martin.

Not in my boats. Set them up as they are meant to be and they run well. Any motor will build heat if run outside its parameters/efficiency range.
