Member question for Q & A Section readers

I've had a few people ask for a Q&A section for just mini/micro boats. I personally feel that we dont need another Q&A section, but would like to poll you guys to see what you think? My question is that if we do that, do we then break up the Q&A even more? Like a Q&A for Hydros, Q&A for Cats, Q&A for Monos?

This is a public pole where other members will see who voted what.

I would like some feedback on reasoning you picked what you did if you would like to share it?

Why complicate things. Mooving the for sale posts was enough

My thought was to not expand the q&a. But some things require some growing pains. I remember how pissed people were when the board first started and we expanded from one section.

I voted Add a mini Q&A section only? It would be nice to have just one Mini area so it would be easier to search and find items. For newbies, it would be easier to find instead of hitting the larger boat forums. Every other brand of Mini exists and is on this board but does not cover "other Mini's". For example, OSE sells/sold Mini Cat products but there is not a place to post these Q&A for example but people have questions and don't have a place to post. I have been wanting this for years on OSE. I think it would complete OSE nicely.

If it grows then break it down to types. But for now just having a place would be ideal to help everyone. If you just add a Mini Q&A for now that would be great.

          Thank you.

I do see your point, but there are many boats I've sold over the years and do not have a separate section for. There is a place for them and every other fe related boat question in the main Q&A. Let me do some home work to see how many mini only related posts there were over the last month to see if it really demands its own section.

I voted "add mini only" because the general rules that apply to 22"-122" boats are slightly different for mini-micro boats.

For me, it's easy enough to use the search option to direct me exactly to what I'm looking for. Therefore, I see no real reason for it. The Q@A is good for all types of boats.

                    Thank you Steve, I agree.

Rumdog I agree, true as that is that the search is there, new users won't know how to use it or not hit the keyword to find what they are looking for. I found this to be true also and spent many hours looking for something that didn't exist as times or found it because it was off topic or closely related cause I foud it with a different keword with the same meaing. The search is based on what people say and how they word it, or even be relating it, that may be good info but not exactly what you are looking for.

I have used search and not found things only because they way it was worded differently by members. I may be interested to search for a "small coupler" it would pull up many topics. Putting in small coupler is only good if someone that says that exactly if it even relates. If they don't but put "small 3mm coupler" and it's on page 100 it will take forever to get to if it's even there.

It just makes more sense to have a place that deals with smaller boats and search that forum and look at those topics instead of weeding through all the other topics on other subjects and then realize it may not even relate to what you are looking for as you found it but it applies to a larger boat or they are talking about a small coupler that is for a connection to something different like on a engine or something else.

                    Thank you.

I voted keep it as it is. I check for new posts when I log on and very seldom do I look at individual sections.

I say keep it how it is as well. One of the biggest problems is new guys don't post in the correct section. Theirs SV, venom, mg question's and what not in the General Q&A section instead of their appropriate section. If you open of the flood gates to more sections people will still do the same thing and post in the wrong in the sections. JMO

Then we need to remove the: ** NEW ** Traxxas Spartan Brushless Q & A and we need to remove the new WTB in the swap shop that was just added.

No that's not what I am saying. I think the new swap shop and traxxas section are a good idea. What I am saying is this http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=21224 why is this in the Q&A section and not in the sv or even aq general section. Like Danny says he moves threads ALL the time. It's not hard people just need to pay attention and making many different sections like hydro, monos what not is gonna create more work for those guys and more places for people to post in the wrong area. I do think their should be a Delta Force/Delta Force copies section so all that info is together. But many different section's I think is a bit much. hell it may work good i just would like people to pay attention more to where their posting and also to do a search before they post so their isn't 50 different threads on the same topic. I guess that's my main point.

This is all JMO of course and who's ever thread I referenced it is just to show an example not an attack.
