Okay guys i've been wanting one of FighterCat's Carbon Fiber Cat. hull for sometime now. I was talking to Jim at SouthRiver about my motor mount for a 5692 Leopard. We got to talking and kinda got off subject about the mount and started talking about carbon fiber. Told him i was going to buy o full CF cat. hull, and he said something about CF being conductive and i'll have problems with esc and batterys....????? Did i hear him wrong or can someone elaborate on this for me. I know it's going to be light and very strong, well i hope so because its getting twin 4082 either with 2 CC hydra 240 LV or twin t-180's on 6s. Please give me your input or elaborate on this. Thanks!!!!!!!

it can cause receiver issues if your wire happens to lay down on the hull...i do not know about esc issues...i have laid carbon in almost every boat i have owned and never did i think i had receiver issues because of carbon fiber...just make sure your antenna is not against the hull...i have a carbon daytona so i will find out this spring after the thaw...it is conductive"FE" STANDS FOR FRUSTRATING EXPLOSIONS -
I looked at hpr hulls and HP made a custom CF esc hold down that looked awesome.... I wanted to kinda copy that and keep the CF sceam inside the hull as well. Buddy of mine just got a new cnc machine to do custom CF pieces for motor cycles, hot rods ect. I'm wanting him to make me something sweet for a custom look!..Eagles may soar in the clouds, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines..56" P.I. You going to do a build thread on it? It should be a sweet boat, looking forward to seeing how it turns out.Comment

I've heard that the 4082 were comparable to the 1520's in power but 1 in 1 hand and 1 in the other, the leopard feel's a tad lighter. 4 3s packs shouldn't be to much i dont think...??... Might need that extra weight to keep it on the water LOL...Eagles may soar in the clouds, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines..56" P.I. A lot of guys seem to think they need those big cans in the fightercat. It is a SMALL 37" hull. 2x6s packs and 1520's is a LOT of weight for this hull. I found that out when I got one. Twin 1512 2650kv motors on 4s each would be just about right.Comment

2 of these on 4s would rock for a budget build.
The fact of the matter is, the larger cans have no advantage unless you want to turn a bigger prop. If you are planning on using bigger props than what the twin 1512's can handle, then the larger can makes sense. That would be a huge set of props on that small of a hull though.Comment

I dont no about the CF prob and i hope theres no prob there but i got one of Fighters CF hulls and am going to run two Faigeo 9xl's and two Etti 150a esc's on probly 5s each with 442 props... hope it moves..and hoping to use a Tactic tx and rx with no antanna .Comment

And i think the exra weight from the twin setup will keep it on the water..Well i hope.

To answer your original question ....carbon fibre hulls may have problems with certain radio manufactures...what is yours and model #and what RX?
