The struts won't be adjustable because I'm making them especially for my boat.

So will the 120amp work? Seems like enough headroom for me...

Well the cc1512 1800kv is at a 80 amp rating... So 120amp should be plenty.

I agree. I'm running the cc1512 and t-120 in my Mean Machine.

Have you checked the prop shaft to make sure it spins freely? Mine was very, very tight from the factory. This could be causing the motor to heat up very quickly and put lots of strain on the electronics.

I ended up boring the strut out on mine to 3/16" to get rid of the square drive and be able to use my other props instead of buying new ones or using an adapter.

I think I'm going with the t-120 instead of the sword-120... The turnigy seems to have more features plus it's cheaper by 30 bucks!

                    What do you guys think?

                    Here's some links:

                    Turnigy 120amp ESC w/ BEC
                    Swordfish 120amp ESC w/ BEC

I'd say spend a few extra bucks and get a 180.

Well if the motor is rated at 80amps then a 120amp should be plenty.... Am I right? Why would I need 100 amps extra? I will already have 40amps... Please explain maybe im not getting something here..

No, youre not right. The motors can and will pull more than 80 amps. It isnt as simple as a "rating". I's dependant on input voltage, prop size, driveline friction, ride attitude of the boat, and water conditions.

Ok thanks. I will probably have to go with the 180's

Sorry guys, Selling the boat to buy a better sound system for my car. (proud owner of a suby wrx)
Looks like I'll never get to see it run.

I will be selling the castle 1512's separately on eBay.
