i think most of the reason why people dont use 5s is that it would give you 42 000 rpm with a fresh battery on a 2000kv motor

      Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
so I should just stick with the 4S 2P and the 2200kv instead?

My watercooling setup seemed to work pretty well last time I took the boat out, Ill rebuild the boat and take some pics

i wouldent go more then 4s on 2000\2200 but thats just me.

im happy with the speed i get from the 2000kv. orderd some new M series prop for it so with a little luck i should be able to breake 60 mph (so far max speed been 56,8)

yeah its just id prefer to keep the 4S batteries that ive allready got, they also seem to be very useful for other RC things
I got almost 10 minutes of run time out of the batteries with the stock motor, but it needs to go!

I run 5s all the time and so do a bunch of other people. 2000kv is bit much on 5s that's all. You gotta run the voltage that's appropriate for your any given setup.

Reason I say no to 5s is not because of heat issue, but rpm issue. To high rpm lots of wear on motor/drive compoents and to much rpm can make the prop inefficient and carries to high of a load on a single drive. Higher rpm is ok on a twin setup because the work load is shared. On a single motor 26-32k for target range, depending on what type of setup im looking for.. That's just me...

I will be placing my Genesis on order after Christmas- waiting on my HK gift card.

HK did it again. Im looking at the $303 price tag like man I cant afford it. Click on buy and it goes into my cart at $192... Hell Ive seen people asking almost that for the hulls!

Would the Castle 1717 1580 kV be overkill or would it work well?

How about the 1512 1800 kV.

I dont have an ESC or batts yet, so Im open to ideal setup.

1717 would work (big that's for sure), would be a rocket.. The 1512 is too small. I'm still a fan of the leopard 4082s in the genesis. JMO

I changed out my 4082 for a 1717 air version with the T-180 on 6s, with a x645 prop and it toke flight around 68mph.

Soon as the dang lake unthaws....... Winter SUCKS!! My neighboor's and i throw bubblers in the water around our docks so the water doesn't freez and srew them up. It leaves about a strech of unfrozen water abot 10' wide and around 200' feet long before you get to the bend, but i dont have the ballz to try it out with a boat in the 65+mph range, may not get stopped and whoops there goes the drive.LOL

                                Nice...

My 1717 car motor is on the way.

Going to order the Genesis after Christmas.

I also have a 4074 2000 kV Leopard sitting here. I think my 25" Prince mono wants to play with it!
