Honestly i dont think anyone goes by that anymore. I seen these boats running at the nats this year. Also if we are following the rules the way they are still written. I think most of us would be DQ. for not running a "700 series" motor

What's the deal with factory carbon? I'm not a composites expert by any means, so curious what to look for and what to avoid.

I'm considering doing a carbon fiber run of this hull or the longer "pursuit". They can also make carbon kevlar by request, so that's another option. Just a limited edition run if there's enough interest.
Put a strait edge along the bottom, parallel to the keel. You're looking for dips or bulges.

As far as carbon goes. It's stiffer than glass but only really hits max performance when epoxy is used for the layup. The polester/vinylester resins are a bit brittle to get the most out of carbon, good for UV exposure. Carbon looks cool though and will be an improvement over glass. Beware the black finished glass made resemble carbon cosmetically.

Is the pursuit the 32" hull?

OK, cool, I'll check it with a straightedge.

I don't know anything about the pursuit, except HK, HOR & Kinetec sell them and TFL makes them. =)
