Esc and motor temps good.Lipos HOT!!!

Whats the deal with that?
My setup is castle 1800kv motor and seaking 180esc on 4s.
5.5 bullets all round.
m445 prop and the boat is planing well and not running wet.
2.5 minute runs and she comes in with a hot lipo.
any ideas oh great ones?

What's the C rating on the lipos?

If you're pulling on them too hard, they will get hot. They'll deliver to their max, but heat up accordingly.

PS- I'm not a great one, but I'm sure one will be along shortly.

You mention hot lipo, singular..........just one? If so probably a bad cell or solder.

I use turnigy 45c mostly which run better than the hyperion 35c i have temp wise.
I also run 25c venoms.
they are all getting hotter than i like though.
How come the motor and esc are cooler?
What should i do besides cut down the run time?2.5 minutes should be ok.if i run any shorter i might as well get a gas boat.

most of my lipos are brand new.
I have expensive lipos and they get hot also.

the lower c rated ones seem to be running less hot besides the hyperions.
I'm not happy with there performance.

What hull? How do you run Full throttle or bashing around? Obviously spin drive shaft by hand and chEck for binding.

Need more info. What mah? What configuration, hull, prop, number of cells, parallel or series, etc.?

Are the cells puffing? Or is it just the shrink wrap? Do you have a temp gun?
