Pursuit Kintec Mono - First Run...

or was it half a run?

Well, it didn't go so well. Went about 30 feet. Then, nothing. After finally getting it back to shore, full of water, the flex shaft was gone. It was the 3/16 1 pc upgrade shaft from Kintec, along with a 40mm prop, nut, and stainless bullet nut. Kinda sucks, but hey, what are you gonna do

Guess now I know that I have to really tighten that coupler. I didn't want to over-tighten it since everyone is always like "don't make it too tight!" But I guess from now on I'll always put it on just a tad bit tighter. Sucks I have nothing else to report!

Other than the Pursuit, my SV27 ran great. Oh and we used the little brushless Reef Racer 2 to get it back when it flipped from the chop. It's getting way too cold for boating here in NY. I couldn't feel my fingers after getting it out of the water.

That's the part that sucks about 1 piece shafts, if the rudder doesn't catch the prop.

Wheel collars on the shaft by the motor & tube will help prevent the shaft from coming out.

Sorry to hear. I've lost a few new props this way. Lost a few on turtles too. Sux.

Well, there's no way this rudder is every gonna catch the prop. Haha. In the reef racer, the rudder is directly behind the prop so when it slid off today, (yes, that one slid off also) the rudder caught it and I retightened it.

And yeah I'm gonna put some silicone tubing on there and that should help if it ever happens again.

Not only was it a new prop but also a new flex cable and bullet. Sucks cause I was excited for the first run. Well, it did run pretty cool for like 10 seconds. Haha.

I ordered all the parts last night, and hopefully if the weather is nice I'll run it again next weekend.

But you didn't actually lose it, did you? And did you ever try the 42x55 prop on the SV27? I still haven't tried it since the water was too rough.

Oh that sucks. I always bring my toolbox/bag with me whenever I go run my boat. I'm starting to think I bring too much but there's always that one thing you need. So, how many boats do you have? Haha.

Haha how does that always happen? My SV27 ran great, and the new boat I've been waiting to run has to lose it's shaft.

And those sound pretty cool! I really wanna get a cat, but I'm not sure which one. I want a really nice one, and I really like the HPR cats but I don't think I'm capable of building one. I wish he sold them ARTR.

And Krowbar, now's the time to do that paint job

The Apparition looks cool, and so does the Genesis. I like those boats, but I really wanted something with great quality. Of course, I'm not saying those boats are no good :)
