On 4s with the Leopard 4074/2200kv I ran a s220 and it was fast, turned great, and drove perfectly. Very big difference when compared to the heavier setup with the larger prop. I would try to stay with a s215 or s220 myself...thats definitely where that boat handled the best.

The 1518 on 4s2p would be a great setup. Decent speed, lower temps, and longer run times.

    P.S.-
If you run 4s2p, you will probably have the best luck putting 3 of the 4 lipos in the left side as far back and close to the motor as you can get them, then run one pack on the other side. That seemed to work the best for me.
I'll give that a go. My son will be happy to finally keep up with the big boys...

Picked up the 1518, cooling can, and ESC today...

Too late to suggest another motor, too bad.
A friend of me just finished his lizard-build, similar boat as your Toysport.
He now runs it with a Turnigy T600, very cheap, and runs fast !

I should get the motor in a few days and I'll let you know the mounting screw spacing. I was assuming standard 25mm, but maybe not...

Yep, it will fit in the standard mounts sold here at OSE

The motor literally just showed up in the mail 5 min after I posted...
              Mounting holes are 25mm spacing.

How did you mount that motor with the fins/watercooler? Only on one end?
                I let the dogs out...

Yes. I epoxied a wood wedge to the hull to support the end as well. Probably not necessary. We use these things in trucks and buggies that fly over huge jumps and flip like crazy with no rear support, so Ina boat I see no real need for it.
