I have tryed adjusting the timing and it helped a little but still not as much power with the 180 from a dead stop on 6s I could almost flip the boat right over as it leaped out of the water.
There are only three timing adjustments on the aquastar besides auto
    Low advance timing
    0°~15°
    Option 2: middle advance timing
    5 °~ 20 °
    Option 3: High advance timing
    15° ~ 30

I think I may buy a Turnigy Marine 120A and see if I have any better luck as I put the 180 in my genesis

Perhaps it had to do with soft vs hard start? I set 2 ettis up, what I thought were exactly the same, one had nice smooth acceleration, the other boat would back flip from a stand still if you sneezed while hold the tx. I changed that real quick.

I run a few of the T120s. I think they are very nice controllers.

What about running the CC 2200kv with the Etti esc on 4s?That should get you between 40 and 50.I think the Apparation hulls come with a 4mm drive line in them too.If Im right, you should convert it to use 3/16 flex for prop selection.Im not sure how to do it,but there are 2 very smart people in here that probably know how.(Diesel and tiqueman).

Its quite easy. Get yourself a .150 flex kit from OSE. Also get a 1/4" piece of K7S brass tubing (also OSE if you dont have a LHS or hardware store near by) You can usually just grab the factory tube w/ a pair of pliers and twist it. Sheel pop loose, then just pull it out. Open up the hole a smidgen, put it all back together w/ new stuff. Thereas a lot in between, but its not bad at all.

Oh and you can either mod the existing 4mm strut, or just buy a new one (ie Ms Vegas strut) already set up for 3/16.

Ha we have them fooled D! Thanks for the compliment Larry.

I have tryed that as well as every other option I could think of
it just doesn't seem to perform as well.
I guess the thing to do is to switch back to the 180 and do a few tests to be sure I have not damaged the motor

                  Alex.
In my old Apparition The GPS hit 83 k/hr (about 52mph) with an 8Xl on 4s & an X640 prop. The ESC was a Himodel Gx200A. The 8s version. That's over a 5 short lap run.

This video was the second run on the same batteries. Just a tad slower.
I have a 7Xl in it now, but it's not as good as the 8Xl. The 7Xl runs a smaller prop, & still runs too hot & the boat doesn't seem as fast, & it draws over 130A to do it.
                  I love the 8Xl .
I reckon your castle 2200 on 4s with an X440/3 blade will crack 50 easy.

                      Yep, I'm still drifting around.
There's a lot of good setups out there. Yours among them if I remember correctly.
The cat's been in dry dock lately as the last 2 pairs of 2s packs I've got just get hot & squishy if I run them hard. They are over three years old & have been well abused on occasion. So I'll have to wait 'til I get some new ones. I just run them in the lower amp draw boats & in my scale models now..
                      Cheers.
                      Paul.

The new hulls are nice! You have a NEW version hull so you know. They are basically the same as I am using for the Fightercats.

Watch the paint though, it looks nice, but pulls off with the tape. Wax helps prevent it.

Also make sure to treat ALL of the wood with Polyurethane or the like. It will rot and is poorly glued to the hull. The servo will pop loose during a run. I spray the complete interior with poly to keep the fiberglass from deteriorating due to moisture.

Also, if you haven't adjusted the hard shaft on one of these before, you'll want to make sure the teflon washer is snug to the strut to prevent leaks. It's a two part shaft. You can also space it and epoxy the cable into the hard prop shaft.

                            Cool, have fun & enjoy!

You have 2 options with this Apparition cat: 2x2S with a 2200kV motor or 2x3S with 1500kV motor.
I prefer a 6S setup because the current is lower
If you run the cat with 4S, a Leopard 4074/2150KV 4-Poles is a great choice. What size is your Castle Creations 2200kV?
