Etti Saber - Flood Chamber - Please help

I have recently bought and built my first boat. Its an Etti Saber hull with Etti 150 ESC and Lipo battery.

The battery and ESC are both located on the port side but I cant get the thing to self right without adding 125g weight in the flood chamber. Is this normal or an excessive amount of weight? With all the weight it leans heavily to the port side when upright.

Surely its going to slow the boat down no end with that much additional weight. Any advice or tips would be appreciated. I have holes on the deck to let the air out and the chamber seems to be 90% full when flooded.

Please help! Ive been tinkering all week to no avail!

I have some simliar type boats and they do need quite a bit of weight to get them to roll even with the flood chamber. It will not slow down your boat much and they will sit "sidways" when they are in the water.

I have a higher end boat (Triton) that requires no weights, but the smaller ones I have dealt with usually do.

The only thing left for you to consider is the servo placement, but I would just run the boat and enjoy it.

If I get the time tonight, I will see how much weight I have in my boat. I know it is quite a bit.

Cheers...I appreciate the post...Took it out for its first run on Sunday and it flipped! I had to go in and recover it! Luckily the water was only knee deep. Keen to get it sorted before my next outing on Saturday. I guess I will see how much it slows it down on Saturday. Thanks again

If you test the boat in, for example, the bathtub :
if boat is upside down, are the holes in the deck above water or under water ?

any way to move the battery further to the left or actually attach it to the side?

I've been bath testing all week. I can see the holes bubbling away so i think the air is coming out. When I pick it up the chamber is pretty much full

Have you tried using less additional weight, and turning it back by pulling the throttle?
Or did you add so much weight that the boat flips back to normal ?

Ive tried to put enough weight in to get the prop at least half in the water. The less weight the better With the 125g it does flip so i could possibly reduce that a touch.

I am using roughly two rows of these:
Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.

That comes to 6oz, you are using quite a bit less. 125 grams equals 4.4 oz

I am running this boat on 2s:

I am getting speeds in the low 30's. Maybe that will give you something to bench mark it against.

My belief is the weight is not an issue at all since the boat is already going so fast it wrecks on a regular basis. I have two of them and race with my son.
