    What about just jam packing the whole bottom stub shaft section with Marine grease.............i use the really stinky green stuff..............

    BTW, i used a clear thick silicon lubricant in mine, it eventually leaked out too, but it took several days.

      Remember me telling you I contacted Aquacraft about gears and they said the best they could do was send me a new EP1?

      Well I just got that motor in the mail. The first thing I did was tear it down so I could see what perfect new gears looked like. But what surprised me was there was very little grease in that lower unit.

      And the 550 motor on this new EP1 looks a little better quality. The can is almost chrome looking.

      So anyway by looking at the brand new gears (still brass) I now know I have at least 4 good gear sets, maybe 5. That gives me a little trial and error on the brushless motors before I have to start buying $75.00 motors just for new gears...LOL
