Thank you all for your support and indeed I am what I am. I never intentionally try to ridicule a forum member but if they do not respond to replies for more information I find that confusing. I am in full support of all newbie questions but if they put out silly setups I will question that as others may follow and have a bad FE experience and leave the hobby.

Ok, since Doug brought this to the forefront, here is the other side of the story. I know Doug's replies are in jest and as from reading, so do you guys understand this. But the new guys that are jumping on and reading do not have the time vested on the forum to understand it. I've received many, many, and one more time, MANY complaints about this over the years. Other guys have said it before and I will say it again. There isnt a perfect way to transmit jest in printing text. That being said, a poster has to keep that in thought first when responding. The smileys have been expanded over the years to help in this area, but those are still not perfect.

Plain and simple, responding by saying a "post is stupid" isnt the correct way to start a conversation about a setup. Just imagine walking up to a guy at a business convention and with the straightest face possible saying, "I think your dressed like an ASS, is it possible we can do some networking". I dont think that conversation would go very far. It doesn't work in person and it doesn't work in a forum.

This is a fun place for us and a club of sorts. A way to learn and interact with our friends. If we want more people to race with us, we have to teach the masses. Thats my main goal for the OSE forum. So far its gone pretty good without much of a issue. I would like to keep it that way.

As a fellow Kanadian to the grumpy OLD Scotsman, we have to take into consideration that as his golden years are upon him, all his faculties might not be totally up to par anymore and that includes brain to keyboard interface.

Afterall remember this, he does live in B.C. (Bitch Central) so he really can't help himself...

I can relate to this. My fathers favorite way to greet a customer at the store these days is "What do you need?"

              this is good stuff.....

I myself would be looked upon odd to others sometimes too.... I have "long time" customers that come into the dealership and haggle things to death that I can look at strait in the eye and say "are you gonna buy this F*!^ing car or not?" but like steve says some people just take things to heart too much.... especially new members who haven't seen douggies posts much...lol.... I myself get a chuckle out of his postings... most of the time I would like to say the things he does... i just hold them back, probably because I know Douggie will chime in and set them strait!!!!

Oh and Steve... I got most of the way through boxing up your 44" Cat last night and ran out of supplies... will get it done this evening and ship in the A.M....and give you the total tommorrow too... My bad but the old lady would have shot me if I came home at 2 A.M. last night.... bad enough that I was down at my Man Cave til midnight....

Thats great. I have those customers also. The same guys want to come in a touch or try on a Rolex. Guys that have been customers for years and I have a rapport(spelling? repore?) with them. I usually just say something like, "if you want me to get off my ass and show you that, show me the cash first." They know I'm joking because its the way I do things at work. Its very light hearted around here.

Love you Doby, my brain is barely functioning but better than most in Toronto, your new Mayor is going to be moron one or moron two and Steven you handle this forum very fairly.

Just another thought I was the International sales manager for a Canadian company and travelled the world, many a time I had to bite my tongue in frustration to some dumb manager's question/comment but put on the salesmans best face and tried to inform the twit the error of his comment. When we get older we do not suffer fools well and speak our mind much to the shock of the recipient.

Well, I'm with Steven on this. there are lots of forums around where you can be as sarcastic and spiteful as you want. OSE is not one of them. There is the Skippies and Kiwis thread which, as far as I understand, is a place where spleen can be vented, in jest or for real.

Saying I yam what I yam is not an excuse for rude behavior, neither is age. Asperger's syndrome...maybe. If someone doesn't suffer fools gladly, just leave the post alone and move on.

Just my opinion. Keep OSE friction free, Steven. It's nice for all of us that way. I just wanna enjoy FE and this forum.

I'd love to see douggie on the traxxas forum. I think his head would explode. A combo of the idiotic users and the locked down nature of the place. Steven really does allow a lot of freedom compared to some buisiness forums. I'm grateful for that.
