IMO a motor this large requires a 8mm shaft.

Why? 6mm seems plentyto me. It surely isn't going to bend.

Interesting... I've been running the Genesis w/Hydra 240 and 1527 on 6s... The 1527 does have an 8mm shaft... but not that it matters, it's coupled to an 078 wire...

I've decided to stick with the 1527... It has a history of proven performance... and it's 40mm which just happens to be the right size for my motor mounts. =)

I'll keep watch to see how the 1717 does.

            My 2cents worth

Stick with the Neu - Steve neu has the runs on the board - his motors are the Best around

There are many others - Rember - You get what you pay for!!!!!!

Not true when you consider the price of the Castle motors. If Neu is willing to have his name affiliated with these motors, that is saying something. I've been running these motors flawlessly for a while now. Veryy efficient, and powerful.

how many runs? my experience with those wires is not good. I gave them up long ago. I was just curious what prop you were using.

Probably a dozen on the big prop. I've heard mixed reviews on them, but so far have had pretty good luck. Jeff W makes the ones I use.

Well, I sold the 1527, mostly because mudl asked and I'm sure he's going to do something fantastic with it.

                        So... I'm waiting for OSE's 1717 cooling can's.

...or the price to drop on the 5692.

Who thinks a CC 1717 on 5s and 6s would rock this hull?
