motor works great! on a 648 prop in my Whiplash the motor came in under 115 no water cooling on motor. to swing the 450 I did put water cooling on it. a 646 works well,646/3 is good a 447, 447/3 is kinda of a pig on that motor for a hydro.
Swinging these size of prop on my Whiplash (48mm and larger) I don't have torque roll but I did have prop walk issues the boat would not track straight so off setting the drive line would be a must.

Not sure Jeepers I had the "More Go than Show" prop guy make this one up for me. I have run a standard M447 on the boat before. Here are some pictures of the custom prop.

By the way I also took a quick pick of this other prop I have. An H6. Not really sure how this one might work on the boat.

          I raced my Insane 30 in P Sport w/a 1521 1.5D, X648 prop and experienced exactly the same thing...1P 6500 G3's and a Castle 240.

IMO the extra Kv of the 1515 1Y will actually get that boat moving faster without having to go too big w/the prop...where most will experience all the ill-handling that will comes w/it.

David's on the money with this advice. Bigger/lower KV motors needs big wheels [just fine for P-Monos] - a 1515 1Y (or its variants) is the ticket- speeds in the low 60's and controllability. If you want to join the ZSP/WTS club, go bigger

Good to know about the large props causing that issue. I wonder how the 1521 would do on 5s, being that I already had it laying around. Really don't wanna buy another neu LOL

it works, a friend of mine used one of my 1521 1.5D motors on 5s for Q sport hydro on a 445 prop it worked I do not know what the temps were but he said it was "cool" on that prop, what ever cool means to him.....

Tony and Dave are correct about using the higher KV motor so you dont have prop walk issues.

when I put the 450 on it had less prop walk issues then on the 648 not much but less and was easier to drive. I then offset the drive line in the boat and it eliminated the prop walk issues.

Tony I ran this motor because I didn't want to buy another this one came out of a P mono which I no longer have.

Lucky Duc's Ducati Whiplash was 68mph on his Eagle Tree gps using a Medusa motor (2200kv)
