    When is enough.....enough

Just wondering if i am alone in this crazy hobby. When do you guys get to the point that you are happy with your boat? Does it ever happen? I chase speed every single time im at the lake and am disapointed if my changes dont go faster and then look forward to more modifications!!!! I would think without the chase it would be boreing for me but then there also seems to be no end in sight at the same time. I must have a sickness LOL !!!!!

This hobby is a big black hole. First you start with one, then another than another.....I am not sure if you have other rc hobbies besides FE boats, but there are guys out there that fly planes, helicopters and FE boats and some other sort of rc addiction.

R/C Junkies....can't ever get enough boats and airplanes. I've avoided the big "H" (helis) and got bored with cars years ago.

I have decided to "try" to limit myself to 4s set ups and boats that do not exceed about 33" in length. Otherwise, it will just keep growing until I am running massive motors and batteries. I also try to sell off boats now and then and keep the boat "count" down to around 4 or 5. Not easy though. Thank goodness winter is coming soon.

I do not think I reached that point with any boat of mine. I have a boat that I spent a couple of years tuning, I moved the motor mount location several times, different struts, turn fins, etc. the boat got to the point that if i made one small adjustment it was almost impossible to finish a race. it was reliable every time if left alone.

I had to finally retire the boat because the hull could no longer take the punishment of racing.

I hate FE so much I love it.I have cars and trucks that have been sitting for over a year since I got into boats.I always tell my self to sell the cars and use that money for FE.Cant bring myself to do it.Maybe Im an rc hoarder. When one of my boats break,I get mad. When I get home to fix it,I get happy again. The tinkering and building is almost as much fun as running. The money part?Thats another story.

My uncle has a hustler talon 377 with twin 1000+ hp blown big blocks that he runs in all kinds of poker runs here in california. $5000 bucks to replace a prop and 800-1000 bucks to fill it with a couple hundred gallons of 110 octane fuel for a days poker run! (It could be worse!)

I just started with boat's, and man it's great. It's just a cheap Surge Crusher with a good prop for now,(but I can see bigger and faster boats in the spring) but it's so much fun.I wonder why I did not start before.

Maybe it's because I'm into heli's to,(and that is a rush when you go from hovering to you're first fig.8 flying) and cars, 1/16 tanks, and then I do a bit of Modell railroading to, let's not forget to save some cash for a new lens for the dslr, and what about the kid's, soccer gear for my boy's,and dancing shoes for the young lady. New tires for the scott bike, Meguiar's stuff for the car,and what about the wife... Oh boy. I wote for 48hrs day's

I started boats because of a friend of mine, tried the NQD mods first and was SO DISAPPOINTED I ran it once and trashed it... then I got a little 24" Viper II and that was the end of RC as I knew it... cars have been sitting in the pits, air traffic has been grounded... boats take precedent to any purchase made. Since then I acquired several more boats, a few have not even been finished and I am looking around for the next... I don't think I have an "R/C problem" since problems cause bad side effects and affects others in a bad way... the only issue is, I don't have enough room to store all my crap and thus cannot buy more of it!!!
But to answer the question (when is enough, enough?) there isn't an enough, we move to the next when one cannot be tweaked to go faster... then you get the next one and wait until you learn something that will make the previous boat faster... so on and so forward...
