according to their prices i have 500$ worth of motor and esc in one of my boats

Apparently I have a $180 leopard motor in my garage, I been sitting on a gold mine and didn't even know it. I wonder if I could sale my Leopard motor to them for $120, then they would still make a $60 profit on it. hmmmmmm, what's their email address

Well I went to order the boat from Etamiya, I got all the way through the checkout when I come to shipping.......wholy crap.....$108.91 to ship a boat. So now what? guess I'll order it from G-Freak for $299.00 with free shipping.

Isn't the $299 just for the hull? For $80 (including the shipping) you get the RTR, you can use it for a while to you upgrade parts then sell what you have. Someone will by, people are always buying cheap motors/esc's for kids boats, rescue boat and other projects. I wouldn't give those dudes a dime. Just my opinon.

            Himodel $87.41
G-Freak $179.90, please explain to me almost a $100.00 mark up on the exact same motors? That's why they get slammed and will never be taking as serious rc folks. Numbers don't lie and their prices look like money hungry scammers to me. For more on how much of a joke they are please read

Here's more info on a radio:

            Hobbypartz $59.95
            G-Freak $139.99, $80 mark up.

Did I make my point of do you want me to keep going?
No, I here you there. I acknowledged in a previous post, that i don't get the mark up on the motors and radios. But, as a package, they ended up being cheaper than ordering from a chinese wholesaler because of the ridiculous shipping costs.

I know where you're coming from with that its not like the 52 inc bud cat "35-40mph" that was probably going 25 that they posted. I'll try to upload. I can't figure this site out. The
only thing I'm allowed to do is post and read threads. I haven't gps'd it, but paced it riding in my brothers Baja up to 50 then accelerated past my brother's boat. I'll try to upload on this forum or ill just YouTube it.

$371+89+60+70+80=$670 and I trust the parts I listed esc, motor, radio a lot more than I trust the g-freak stuff.

And after you sell the motor, radio & esc that comes with the boat like everyone does any way that's more money off. I sold that same motor for I think $50 a month or so ago and the same esc for like $25 so that's $75 bucks off So make that $670 more like $595.00
Well, selling stuff aside (not really part of the purchase), you're at $670 like you said. You've left out the shipping for all your other items on your list except the RTR boat. Has to be at least $25-30 bucks shipping on the other things you listed to replace. So you're roughly at the same price or slightly higher than my $690 G-freak boat I bought. But now you're predicament would be, some of your things are from here (ie tower hobbies), and most is from China directly. So I have a local face to call or complain to if theres something wrong, where you would have fun trying to get any type of replacement for defective equipment overseas. I can barely get these places to respond when I want to buy something.

You can order a swordfish 120 esc a few more bucks, leopard motor, and tactic radio all from here at OSE for $5 shipping and if something breaks NO ONE handles that better than steve. So change your $25-$30 to $5. I'm done beating the dead g-fake horse. If your happy that's all that matters, but not many people on this forum run boats from them, and theirs a reason to that.

Thats cool. I'm not trying to spit nails with ya or anything. I just don't think they're trying to rip people off. I don't understand their price on the motors and esc's, they just don't come off to me as scammers. Let me know who are some good guys on here to ask questions (Steve?). I'm a newbie.

When I first got into this hobby last year I thought about ordering from them. I asked questions and more experienced guys showed me their errors. After re-watching videos and seeing everything they did with my new knowledge from this site I quickly realized those guys really didn't have a clue about properly setting up a FE boat and have no racing experience in NAMBA or IMPBA. In my opinon if you don't have much experience in a field you shouldn't open a business. They buy their boats from China RTR, then part them out and sell the items at a higher cost. Radio's being the prime example. They will do their water-proofing rx trick where they stick a rx in water and it still works and charge crazy money for it. Most the people on this site including myself water-proof are own stuff, it's not hard to do at all. You can youtube how to do it if you want. Lipo battery cooling plates they sell, some racers here pre-heat their lipo's before they race, better results, so explain to me how the cooling plate helps? If your boat is properly set-up and you time your runs and make sure your batteries you select can handle the load you shouldn't need such things. Their "super-flow" cooling crap with 5 "y" connectors are a joke. They have one video where the cut a hole in the windshield of a cowl and say it allows air inside to cool the electrics. What?!? I would punch someone in the face if they cut a hole in my cowl, not only does that add drag, when you flip your boat consider it gone cause your "so called" cooling hole in the cowl just invited water inside your boat. I think after you hang out on this site for a while you will quickly see why most boaters stay away from them. Some guys may order a hull cuz it's quicker then getting from china, but would never allow them to set the boat up for them or buy any electrics from them. I glad your happy you like your boat, that's awesome, but like I said after you hang out here you'll see the light.

To answer your other question Steve is the owner of OSE and this wonderfull forum your on. Other great guys who hang out here and good people are Jeff (makes awesome wire drives), sailr (minicatracingusa) Andy and Darren from proboat/spektrum hang out here and good people also grimracer from aquacraft pops in every once in a while, also Jan over a kintecracing is awesome to deal with.

ive seen these guys way back when the bashing of G-Freak started... Their older videos were pretty wacky.... but some of their later stuff looks to be much better. Their prices are high but i think they are going for a different market, after reading some of the blogs on thier site. I say live and let live if they are ripping people off then people will post bad reviews on thier site and they will lose out business. I would buy some stuff they have if i had an extra grand lying around :-/ but i dont so i scour the net looking for good deals... just my 2 cents...

btw I think my bud hydro hull comes from them , and it is a very well built hull... so thier huls cant be that bad.
