if you are just looking for scale speed the smaller esc you were talking of may be ok on just 6s... you will need to set it up just like any other electric boat... a motor mount... a coupler to adapt the output shaft of the motor to the flexshaft... etc... and I use hobbyking alot... no problems ever.... don't know about duty and customs... as I live in the US and don't have to deal with that....

Can you make any estimation on difference in speed with 6S or 12S with such motor?
Will it go really slow with 6S

If I run it with 12S (two 6S in serial) with the linked Lipo's above, what will the running time be? Difference with 4x6S in serial and parallell?

Can I make a suggestion that you start with something smaller and less expensive. When you are dealing with 10S and 12S setups cost is not the only issue, safety becomes one as well.

As you are a self admitted newbi, a 4S setup like RTR SV-27 is the best place to start.

With 2 packs in parallel, figure 5000mah x2, figure 5 minutes run time ..to be easy on your batteries, but it all depends on setups, props etc.

          hence the SV recomendation.

But one of the reasons for larger hull is that I have to drive in the sea and the hull needs to handle some waves.

Id try a cheap turingy typhoon outrunner like this

                http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...0_Heli_(1400kv)

with that turnigy 180 esc you were talking about... and I'd run it on 4s with a good sized prop on 4s2p 11,600mah (2 4s 5800mah lipos in parallel) lipos like these:

                http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._25C_Lipo_Pack

This way if it does go poof being a newbie you aren't out a small fortune as a esc big enough to handle the screamer, the screamer itself, and the batts to run it are gonna run you $700 alone....

What would such set-up do for such hull?

How big is the difference between a "little screamer" and a "Turnigy T600 Brushless Outrunner for 600 Heli (1400kv)"?
Would it be clever to use the "Turnigy Monster 200 " and the cheaper "Turnigy T600 Brushless Outrunner for 600 Heli (1400kv)" so it is easier to upgrade later?

Will it be very slow with a "Turnigy T600 Brushless Outrunner for 600 Heli (1400kv)"?
How large Lipos could I use then?

Were can I find motor mount including water jacket for above motors?

After some thinking I start with the idea of building my first boat on smaller scale and cheaper (if I fail). Thinking of maybe 32-36" hull, for example this:

Could anyone advise on hardware set-up?
