    Beginner advises

    Hello,

As a newbie and interested in buiding a electro boat, I would like some advises.
The hull I looking at is a Octane 45 (lengh 1150mm, width 310mm, weight 3000g).

Is it possible to run such mono hull with brushless motor without being very expensive?
Advise of motor and ESC for such hull (would be greatful if you give link to motor/ESC at for example HobbyKing).

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info Doby! What esc did you end up with? I might be starting a large scale build with the little screamers motor and I would like to know. Thanks!!

Nothing right now, still pissed that it took out the Hydra,,,,its in indefinite drydock.

I heard that the Turnigy Monster 200 works.

                  Thanks for the advises!
I would really appriciate if you could give advises of the items I need to purchase (motor mount?, coupler?, drive shaft? etc etc). I am a real newbie and want to understand want amount we are talking about.

Any idea if the hull I suggested is suitable?
Or any other suggestions of how to build a boat of minimum 1000mm length? Set-up?

                  Thanks for all your help.

that esc is only suitable up to 6s... not enough voltage... at a absolute minimum you will want to run 8s... I am going to run my little screamers in my DF Sniper (45" mono) on 12s with a turnigy monster upfitted with liquid cooling.... Here it is mounted...just need to get it wet!

Yes 12s is two 6s in serial....

                          http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/wiring.php

But I am actually gonna run a quantitiy of 4, 6s 5050mah packs.... two in parallel and then into serial to make 12s2p 10100 mah... for longer run times of course....

anyhow the turnigy monster can be bought here:

                          http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Brushless_ESC

And I would put a couple computer fans atop the esc and run with a small lipo... or I have mine upfitted with brass tubing..... they are supposed to work great with the screamer motor...

Do you have any pictures of your boat?

Were can I learn more of the type of equipment I need?
I assume I need motor mount, some drive shaft etc... I really would like to build a large scale electric boat, however I need much input.

Another question, does it work good to order from HobbyKing?
I live in Sweden in Europe, wonder if I will have to pay for custom and duty?
