Not when we are filling in all the forms over dinner. Thank goodness the FE boats only need one form too. If they were nitro or gas records I would have a second engine tech form to fill out for each.

George, the course is a 1/6 mile oval. The times are an average of two consecutive laps and the speed is the average for the entire course ; straightaway speeds are higher but turns are naturally somewhat slower.
Driving the course to achieve the maximum low times involves staying as close to the buouys as possible, or in racer's slang; "pinning the buouys". These record setters are a thrill to watch; at speed almost touching the turn markers in precise control. Constant dedidicated practice makes all the difference

Brian's a magician alright - but he can't perform miracles. He used his spec rigger hull with a Neu 1515/1.5D motor, Hydra240 and 4S1P 5000 to set the record. Way to go! Gorgeous paint job BTW...

                .
Brian initially ran with a spec motor, but swithced to a hotter Neu later in the weekend. I can't remember what run was with which motor, but either way the Raptor rigger delivers.

You don't happen to have any pics of that super clean orange DF26 you guys had there do you? That was my favorite boat there!

Jay, actually the run started out with decals and paint on the boat. Decals blew off on the first lap & the paint peeled off on lap 2 . Ninteen second lap's can do that J/K

Your sport running seems to do that on your boats Tony! Minus the sticker part!

Best time with a spec motor was 23 and change.
Best time with an AMMO 36-56-2600 was 21.50, unfortunately the motor didn't survive (RIP).
The Neu just sat there repeating what suspiciously sounded like "more prop", it's currently taking a well deserved rest and has earned a new set of bearings.

Paint is for scale boats, speed can cover up a whole bunch of ugly. It's actually getting painted all neon yellow. I think I'll call it "Running Scared".

I find my driving is more precise with the stick radio. Remember I came from pylon racing airplanes so a stick is second nature. Lots of the nitro guys run stick radios.

That 3GR in the picture is essentially a 3PM wheel radio in a 2 stick box. The programing is the same. It's been a while since there was a programmable surface stick radio that didn't cost you your first born. I've been running it for about 2 months and it's really grown on me.

Either Brians boat is getting smaller or he is getting bigger...tough to say. But the Subaru blue looks good on you. Good work B.

I thought it was Rubbermaid Ice Cooler blue like the one in the background! Either way that pic sure did turn out nice and clear.
