I can't comment on the 65mph as I don't think any of my boats go that fast. I will however comment on "MY" experience on the Turnigy batteries. I have said it for a while know and a lot have disagreed with me. You are spot on Tony! Without going into detail, when the packs are new and fresh they put out good power. Give them a few cycles and performance starts to degrade. These are 40-50c.

I believe that therein lies the difference. Don't get me wrong, I have lots of Turnigys which I use all the time for fun running, but when max performance is required for racing I use Hyperions.
I'm sure you guys are right.... I don't have ANY race experience whatsoever... and I am sport running where I am on and off the throttle all the time... never just full bore for long long periods..... for my "short bursts" the turnigys work fine... I do want to try some hyperions though as they are the one battery that everyone seems to agree on... that they are very good....

If sticking with the R2 32" cat hull... get good with fiberglass. The whole side just cracked apart... sitting in the sun to let the paint dry. The top/bottom seam split.

Any updates? I finally finished putting the 15xl in the R2 cat hull. Unfortunately don't have a GPS right now though.

My gut tells me this is not realistic, but any fact/experienced based suggestions on motor/SC would be appreciated.
My friend has a 32" Apparation cat with a 540XL motor. Its 1050kv on 6s with a Turnigy 180 amp esc.Its run on 6s with an X442 prop.He run 64 mph with no heat issues and almost 10 minutes of run time. Its a nice set up that isnt overly expensive and doesnt get hot.

Larry, I was looking in the OSE motor store; no Feigao 540XL 1050KV motors listed ; the 580 12L is 1051KV. Could that be the motor ?
