I ran a 9XL on 6s in my sv with a few different props (40mm, 42mm, 45mm). I also ran a Neu 1515-1Y on 6s in the same boat. I got pretty close to 70, and think I may have hit it with the Neu, but unfortunately my GPS didnt last long through the flips (They get WAY different at 55+, Im sure youve noticed).

I ran on water that was like glass, a lot smoother than the water in that vid, and I still couldn't keep it in the water. You may be a ble to hit 65, but only for a split second right before you crash. I was never able to just lay on the throttle for a nice long pass, and I tried for a while...

I dont have any vids with the Neu motor but my son took one the first time we took it out with the 9XL on 6s:

OH YEAH, ALSO I HAVE RAN IN TO A COMMON PROBLEM WHEN PUSHING THE FEIGAO MOTORS TO THOSE HIGH RPMS...I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, BUT EVEN THOUGH THEY VISUALLY LOOK OK AND FEEL SMOOTH, THEY START ACTING AS A SHORT AND WILL CAUSE YOUR ESC TO FAIL. ITS HAPPENED TO ME WITH 3 OF THE FEIGAO XL MOTORS NOW (not using them anymore)...

Why are you pushing these motors to beyond their safe cheap specifications. 70mph, rubbish and prove it on a true SAW run
You get what you pay for.

In the vid the boats running very wet neautralise everything to get descent speed .

Douggie , yes they are cheap , i have had 2 8xls feagio's & i havent been pushing them hard , what i have found when i have taken the water jackets off is little hot spots burn marks on the can , that worries me , i think they are to blame for a few smoked ESCs , wont use them any more !!!!!!

they must be shorting out inside to do that, well thats what i think ???

I knew I'd get that.lol When I entered into the RC boating world everyone told me how stupid I was for thinking I could go 50, and how I "had another thing coming"...then I surpassed it with the first setup I tried. It wasn't difficult at all. It seems no matter what racing/speed arena you are in, whether it be full size or model, people want to believe that limitations are based on what they themselves can do.
...As far as proving it on a real SAW run, well, I cant and never said I could. I havent hit 70 with the GPS in the boat, but made it well into the 60's a number of times. Even then it was only for a second and after many attempts and flips, as the boat just doesnt stay in the water. It's not a realistic setup to do anything other than what I did with it, and Im not trying to say that it is.
I ran the Feigao that hard because I was trying to go fast I guess... (simple answer). 2 of the feigaos that failed on me were only ran on 4s though (8XL and 9XL). The Neu motor I ran never had any problems. I'm now running a Leopard 2200 on 4s.
