Definately not for you with that type of hardware, that stuff deserves a nice hull.

But for those of us that buy $20 motors with $20 ESC using a couple of $10 batteries ($20) with a used AM radio that cost $20 delivered, it is PERFECT!

If I spend $800 to put in something, it better be on ammo for my real toys, like my AC556! "I pitty da Fool!" Heck, I can get about 5,000 rounds of wolf .223 for that much.

Most RC boats are cheap compared to my $200 stamp collection.

Just remember, this isn't everyones primary hobby, just something fun to do with the kids.

Agreed Brian, but for a hull of that size to get decent speed and hardware/electronics it is not a cheap expenditure, for a first time buyer the RTR version is a bargain and as long as your expectations are limited it MAY be a fun boat. I have been down that road and I was very disapointed after the initial euphoria wore off BUT it got me started with a desire for this hobby. I still believe you get what you pay for and your expectations for that money spent. There are some very interesting new RTR and almost RTR hulls that are offered by OSE a very trusted seller and also proven bare hulls. Also do not forget I am a cheap/canny Scotsman

Looks like copy of the KO Propo. I'm not sure if KO still offers the dropped wheel though. The KO version is a nice radio.

                60.

But, I really don't know. It's just a number that I think. I have a similar hull with a 180a ESC & a 1515 2650Kv and it likes to go about 50 on 3s with an x440 prop. But... the prop is too small I think. 445 is too big and causes the ESC to go into low voltage mode... so I'm thinking an x442 would do the trick. But won't know until I can order one in stock.

Good luck! Start a build thread, post some photos of the build. I (and others I'm sure) would be real interested to see how it turns out.

Don't laugh too hard. It is one fantastic unit.
for $43 it comes with fail-safe, 8 model memory, a crap load of programming functions and receivers are $8.
The range is awesome, functionality is great. Myself and a friend at the club have this radio and it is the best bang for the $$ I've had so far. I can take my boat about 300 feet each way with no issues. I have not tried any further yet as it is a bit of a limit of the area.

Oh, it could be a fantastic radio, it's just the design caught me off guard. I'm more of a traditional minimalist, so seeing all the fancy designs is just marketing in my eyes... so it made me laugh.

For all I know, it's the best radio on the market. Or the worst. It just looks funny to me.

Fugly design? man, I though a bunch of monkey randomly drawing pig-tales could have came up with better... hehehe

I had a hard time with at first too, I went from a dx3s to one because of the price, but I love the feel of the radio now, the throttle and steering take a bit to get used to but they have more range, One thing I did with mine was take it apart and grease everything including the buttons, but its solid now. Another nice feature is it is module based, and the futab/spektrum module fits in it.

So... I was messing around after a few drinks and apparently put in a bid on a hull. Just got the notice today that my order was processing... I need a Breathalyzer on my keyboard!

Ah well. $80 shipped. Wonder what it's going to look like?
I've got a bunch of stinger parts & stuff, might just take the leftovers and build "china boot".

Where's the drunken headslap hangover smiley?

Theirs a drunk dialing app on andriod. You open the program and select the names. Then before you start drinking turn on the program. When you get drunk and try to dial a call if their name is on the list it won't complete the call and won't send any text messages to the person. Maybe they can make one for the internet that bans a site when your drunk. My buddy drunk bid on ebay and ended up with a $5000 crotch rocket 3 states away. With that said he doesn't go near his computer when he's been drinking lol.
