    ESC for 1527 1D

    Hi all

    Just invested in 2 1527 1D motors - I plan to run them in a 1.3mtr hull.....

Any suggestions to good ESC'S for this plan to run 2 X442's

I am currently putting one of these into a 38inch rigger and running a CC LV 240... with cap board... prop Prather 220...

    I am thinking Etti HV 200 ????

    thanks in advance

Twin power is very neat but expensive and no speed advantage IMO. I trust that some lads with knowledge of twin setups will chime in on a hull of that size

What use? The 1527/1D is a SAW motor only on 6S with rpm in the 45,000 range. I ran an 875mm cat into the 80s through the traps with it, but the amp draw was very high. A 150 amp controller will not be enough and run time will be short due to heat buildup. a 1527/1.5D is much more appropriate.

Agree with Fluid, a 1D is a SAW or 2 lap motor unless carefully set-up. If you do use them, I would suggest at least a 200A+ controller. You could try the Etti 200A HV, Swordfish HV, CC 240HV or a 32.200 Schulze.

A 442 shuold be a safe starting point.

That motor would also be good on 4s. You can run a 447 to 450 prop and still have decent speed. Stick with the 200 amp controllers.

also,442's are not going to push a 54 in cat well at all. They also will no load the motors, so they will get very hot, even on 4s. I'd run 4s2p per motor on at least 50mm props.
