It's the comptition that drives prices down. If they cease to exist and prices skyrocket, far fewer people will buy resulting in loss of revenue to the other companies and eventually they would have to close down as well. Granted it's a little extreme but the principle idea is there.

I personally, wouldn't have been able to afford the different batteries that I have for my boats and Rustler if it werent for HK.

Exactly. Trust me, I'm not gonna lose work because of HK. If they couldn't sell to the U.S., this sport would lose a LOT of participation. I'm not going to spend twice the money to buy something because it's sold in the U.S. Sorry, there is nothing wrong with having fun annd saving some cash at the same time. Now, if someone in the U.s> could offer comparable pricing, that's a different story. I DO buy everything I can from OSE or members in the swap shop however.

Some are not for a free market and that allows compaines like Tower Hobbies and Horizon to just slap a label on there and charge you a 50% markup. Most of the of products they sell are made in China, they just want to pick off dollars as they pass by. 10 years ago many could not even afford to try R/C, now many can.

I guess you'd know, Steve, being a battery reseller for so long. All you did is just find the cheapest stuff and resell it at the highest price you could, right? You added no value to the product or anything, is that what you're telling us?

And all this time I thought buying them from you meant I was getting a better product than if I went to the guy in NY. Silly me!

Given that we are close to the middle of winter I think it may be a good time for scale boats instead of FE boats.

Someone mentioned that it is so quick that you don't even have time to conctact customer service if you make a mistake in your order.
If only it were true to the flow chart.

Paid for EMS on the 23rd of june.. normally id have the lipos by now. Yesterday the singapore post site finally had some information for the tracking number, but it still hasn't left singapore.

Got a tracking number today. Singapore post. I'm guessing that tracking info won't show for a week, then 10 days from there. Just a guess. This is an experiment.

I thought we were concerned more about safety here.I know prices are low buying directly from China...but this is a catastrophe situation just waiting to happen....Al

                  Yor wrong

We build custom battery packs with the highest quality cells that we have tested for home land security, manufacturing and robotics. We don't get stuff in and just put our label on it. We are no longer in R/C since we don't do the above with them. When we sold R/C stuff we matched the cells and zapped them.

Down the road China may put us out of business.

                  Steve

Neither do we. Unless you know what really happens, I suggest you don't make assumptions and post them as truth.

A very interesting thread. Let us face the facts, HK is blatantly abusing all airlines declarations for dangerous goods and if they were operating in the USA or other countries they would be facing very strict fines. I would suppose that some supplier has blown the whistle on HK methods of operation and that is why they are opening warehouses in large market areas. The cost to ship dangerous goods either by ground or air is very expensive and the paperwork is demanding.

                              caugh caugh

There is major distributor in the USA that ships Lipoly free to everywhere in the world.

I guess they are blatantly abusing it as well. In fact they probably turned them in.

Dead horse subject for me....some that run $1,000 N2 class boats could care less about the cost of LiPoly packs.
