are you running lipos? you are way under propped on that motor, I used to run that motor on a Castle Barracuda 125 turning a 645 on nimhs in the same size mono hull.
a 545 or 645 should get you to 50+ mph.

I now have that motor in a 7lb Whiplash 20 hydro on 4s1p 6500mah turning a m648 prop, no water cooling on motor, temps are just over 100F

Thanks, that has been what I have been doing. This boat (Triton) is the first one where I do not have trim tabs, so I am focusing more on the CG for the boat to make adjustments. I am amazed at how much this changes the handling.

I am running 4s2p with 5000mah 40c lipo's. I have been thinking about moving up to 6s, but all my running gear (Motors and Batts) are around that number.

suprised you pull so much amp`s om 4s i diddent exspect it to be that high on a 442.
i realy need to get me a eagle tree to se how much mine is drawing.
both my etti and motor was cool after i ran mine on 6s on a x642 for about 2-3 minutes

Laughing..yeah I know that, I try to only run my smaller boats on that pond, but it is just 1 minute from my house so it is good for a quick lap. So against better judgment I take a chance sometimes. I am actually in the middle of building a "closed" cooling system with ice water to see if I can use that to overcome the pond limit, but that is a whole other thread.

Can't even imagine that! Our water temps are closer to 90's right now!

I have hit 186 amps with the eagle tree and haven't had a problem (until i got it wet in my gecko) I also have the etti 150, it can handle a quick burst of 300Amps. I am running a Mean Machine w/ a feiago 580 6l, X440, 4s2p and hitting 145 amps peak esc 136f motor 110f both with water cooling. I would watch your caps on the Etti, thats what will go first IMO. I just blew mine, but now have the Opto version and those puffed up on me on 4s2p, I just ordered some caps to take care of that. Its interesting to see someone with the same numbers as me just with a different hull.
                        24 R/C vehicles and still counting...What budget?

been running the neu a few times now. and the etti (caps and all) are WAY cooler then when i was running the nemesis blue 13XL. with the 13xl the caps was often 122 to 130f (on a x645) but with the neu on a 642 the warmest the cabs been are 87.
still havent a eagle tree but i have an idea of amps and heat go together.

smoked my Eagle tree and Etti

                                Well...

I smoked my 150 amp Eagle Tree today, along with my Etti 150 opto.

                                I'm running a DF Cyberstorm, Neu 1521/1.5D, x447/3, and 4s2p 5000mAh.

Check out the amp chart from the final run.

I hope a Hydra 240 can handle this kind of amp load on 4s?
