    Help with my scratch build CG

    Im having a little difficulty working out my CG,on my new build.
    Its a 37"mono hull that iv designed and built (my 1st mono build)
    If you could have a look for me and see what you reckon would be gratefull

    Most monos run best with the CG between 25% and 30%. The optimum placement depends on the amount of total lift in the hull ( areo and hydro) balanced with the speed and total weight. Make the CG adjustable between these limits and you should be golden.

    I'm afraid that the Scorpion S-3020-12 motor is on the small side for a 37" boat. It lacks the torque to spin a very large prop, and a 38mm prop won't push that big hull very well. I run an HK4025/6 on 6S1P in my 34.5" cat and get 45-50 mph with an x455 prop.

    Regardless, that's a nice build!

      cheers bud,im working on it now trying to fit everthing in as is tight due to the height,a little whoopsie on my part but will get their,was just srtuggling to get the cg and being my 1st mono wasnt sure were would be best to start with but can carry on now.
      iv got a 540L 1800 but will only take up to 5s,due you think its worth trying that instead then on 4s

          Tough call on the motor, neither are optimal. I'd start with the 6S setup and a 42mm prop, run for just one minute ( use a stopwatch!) and then bring it in and check for heat.

              Alrite bud struggling to decide what set up would be best,which 1 would you say,im trying to take into prop-torque and balance and trying to keep everything as low as possible.

              this 1 or 1 of the other 2 in post above.
