It's not a bad idea, Would you like to elaborate on the details, or will it be a free-for-all?

Ok, so there was no thought put into this before posting? Just trying to call our bluff? Is Steve involved with items being in stock and available? Have fun and lookout. Danny can build some pretty slick stuff.

                  scale speedboat

I am building a scale offshore boat. Starting it today in fact. I will build the hull, the drives, the mounts, couplers, shafts, the cockpit......

I will buy: Brushless motors, ESC's that need to be WC and sealed, batteries, connectors, flex cable, prop, drive dog, steel shafts, nuts and bolts.

So, if you can all set up your contest around what I am starting, that would be great........ LOL!

Ya me too. I just dug out my 1/10th scale Notre Dame round nose plans I printed off from the RRR site. Thinking of heading to the balsa store tomorrow and maybe a shop clean up. I think the build off should be a scratch build (no premade hulls) and whether to scale or not we could vote, but I will be voting to scale.

I will be using balsa/ply GreatStuff for flotation and insulation foam for my canopy. I will get me a scale Allison engine and have a dude ready for the pilots seat. It will take my last BJ motor and be aiming for similar goals as Jim Clark (aside from racing with Peugeot Sound guys). i will definitely be going bearingized strut and .078" wire drive alla Wohltmeister.

Usually these work best over the winter, but the most important part is to start it!

                    Needless to say I'M IN!

umm, what if you make your own fiberglass hull? Doesn't have to be wood does it? Everytime I work with wood, it ends up being a plug!

Why not, I just meant not a premade-by-somebody-else hull. Just as long as you make it for this contest, it should be legal.

I'm down, I think it would be a lot of fun, I have a lot of stuff going on, but I would like to partipate if I get the time, I had fun just watching the last build contest over on RRR, I have been hoping for something like it here. I think there should be some guidelines set for type off hull and such, but yeah scratch build for sure! Is there going to be contest discounts?
