    demon Rigger

I am thinking of picking this hull up I dont race just looking to have fun running around the lake. My club is just starting to allow fast electrics. I am working on another build right now so this isnt going to happen anytime soon but I was wondering what kind of speed you guys think I can get out of this boat with about 400 for hardware RX and batts included. I have looked thru some of the build threads and notice that some increase the size of the sponson supports is this really necessary. I will admit my main reason for waning the hull is I think it looks cool.

well I have been looking around at threads and while this boat doesnt seem to be very popular I think I am going to go for it. I am upping my budget to 700 for the build including the hull but may stretch the build out and expand the budget if need be. I would like to get 60-65mph out of the boat.

this is how the kit comes I have the speed clamps in the pic I paid the 29 bucks for those in addition to the 200 for the hull

notice there are no pre drilled holes on the hull or sponsons you do get a template for where to drill on the sponsons but not the hull.

Warped hatch cover this is my only large complaint and maybe it will straighten itself out over time but for a 200 dollar hull I found it disappointing.

This looks doable just have to take my time. cant wait to get started.

my hatch cover came in fine... no warp...
just some food for thought, 200 is not a lot for all that you've got, specially considering the CF sponsons, that are well done.
I like this rigger, I have to do some adjustment to get it where I want it, but it's nothing major...
I hope you get what you need out of it, 60-65mph should be something well in the range of possibilities...

what are you trying to get out of it if you dont mind me asking? I am going to use the NEU 1509/4 motor you recomended with a ETTI 150a ESC with BEC. I am happy with the kit just found the warped cover agravating I would buy it again. I think if I tape the cover down and leave the boat in my car for a while it might straighten the cover out.

Jason, I am not a oval race kinda guy, I like SAW and 2-laps.
I race against myself every time I go to the events, the motor I recommended was the 1509/1.5D, I think you mixed the Lehner and the NEU names, lol.
One other thing, when you are ready to drill the tub, make absolute sure that it is measured and marked the right spot, you don't wanna weaken the hull by adding more holes then needed. Make sure that you don't force the drill in, let the bit make the hole slowly.

in one of the links you gave me on the pm it said to go up 3/8 from the bottom on the front and 1/2 inch on the bottom does that sound about right? I am going to buy a new drillbit and let it do the cutting so I get a nice sharp hole.

Thanks Egneg its my first Rigger and only my second FE boat. The mono in the last pic is my first FE boat and it came in tonight lol. I ordered the Demon after I ordered the mono but it came in sooner. I didnt get anymore done tonight as the mono took up most of my time.

I have followed the Demon rigger a bit "online" Pics and clips etc.
                            Yours looks good !

If you need a hand with setup there are some very clever buggers here who know how to make a rigger go fast.

If they do not answer your questions then give me a shout. I have a couple of quick riggers and may be able to help too.

I like the Etti rigger, but I like wood better !!
                            See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood
