    hobbyking v hull:pursuit

Does anyone have feedback about this boat? Is it a decent Hull?

Looks good and the Genesis got good reviews...

We had one on our pond last week for a race, and it is a nice and stable boat. The guy changed the stock motor with a Castle Neu and a 180 Turnigy ESC. He came in third, but that was just bad driving and LVC (same for me, I was second...). Take a look here, follow the yellow boat...

The hull and hardware are great. The glued mounts, stock motor and esc a terrible. But for the money its worth it.

Glad to hear that and actually see one run. Its not as popular as the Genesis so its hard to find any info about it. I was actually looking at the Aeromarine Titan that is roughly the same length, but its $170 for the bare hull. I know its like comparing Chevy's to Cadillacs, but for a few bucks more you get a ARTR boat :)

Maybe I should pose this question. What would be the most stable, best handling V in the 32-34" range? I'm not looking for something that will necessarily be the best racer, but something I'm not swimming for all the time either lol

Any boat in that size range you shouldn't be swimming for often, unless its setup rather loose or that wind/waves are just to much.

Need some help with the boat, I was trying to lube the shaft yesterday but can't get the shaft separated from the motor coupler. I've tried pulling, pushing moderate hitting... nothing.
The brass thing that goes inside the coupler just does not want to come out from there and is holding on tight to the cable.
Do I really have to lube it???? it has Teflon liner.... :)

On the Pursuit, the cable can only be pulled out if you remove the motor, in that direction. It has a square coupler on the shaft end, which cannot be removed... but yes, you should grease it...

I had no problems removing the rear, just 4 screws and I was able t gain access to the square end and was not able to pull the shaft by it.

A picture would be helpful. What i remember from dismantling a similar one is that I could only remove the shaft by removing the stinger from the hull. Without this, the flex only comes out inside the boat. Your best bet is to remove stinger and motor, leaving the shaft there and see what is really happening.

Yes, that is what I did, removed the stinger from the hull.
I just can separate shaft from the inside of the motor connector.
Maybe I do what you suggest, remove the motor, pull it out together with the shaft. This will give me ability to try other things and to apply more force if required.

Rico Racing 31" or a MHZ Lizard

But this is is a pretty stellar deal. Even if you were to buy a dF clone and hardware you would be pretty close in cost of just getting this one.

If oyu remove the stinger, the short shaft slides out easily. It woun't fit through the stuffing tube, so it stops there when stinger is installed.

just upgraded mine to cc/ neu 2200 kv and it runs great- still playing with props, though

I came into work today and we called up Aeromarine...apparently our hobby shop has a dealer account set up with them...eek :)

I ordered a 33" Titan, so did my boss, and he also ordered a big hydro for some motor he has laying around...

Maybe I'll pick up one of these guys after I play with the Titan for a bit, but I'm excited for it to arrive :)

                              Thanks for the input.
