    testing a brushless motor&esc

i was on my first run of a new twin i have put together. i am running 2 feigao 8xl through@ mystery 200amps esc on 6s 2p. the esc are wired together. i didnt have any problems with temps or anything. ran pretty awsome for a while then wouldnt run straight. the right side motor stopped working...neither the esc or the motor were over 100 degrees, in fact slightly under..i had only run it for a few mins. with out pulling them all out is there a way to test the motor and esc to see what is going on??remeber these esc are tied together and the other side is working great

When you say "wired together" what do you mean? Got a picture to post to help us?

I had this problem once on my cat. I used a old pair of batteries. The batteries could not handle the amp draw which made one motor shut down. I had mines wired in parrallel also.

If you are not running them (esc's) in parralell, I would do this first then try again. By doing this both power systems sees the same voltage, considering your batts are up to task.

        i am running 2 feigao 8xl through@ mystery 200amps esc on 6s 2p.

        8 XL KV is 2073

        2073 X 6s

        2073 X 6 X 4.2 = 52239 rpm

maybe this is why things have stopped working
I would think the 8 XL is more of a 4s motor

can you just swap the esc from one side that motor does not work to the other side and see if the motor works ?
This way you will know if it is esc or motor trouble on the bad side

Can you turn both motors by hand ?
Do they both feel the same ?
Maybe something let go inside the one that is not working

no mater, your ESC and motors are still getting 6s and ESC has to work harder when you are not letting it run open. You probably cooked something.
If you "only" use 6s for once in a while high speed then only put 6s at that time. Run 4s or 5s if motors can handle it when you don't have need for speed, also known need for new motors, also know as youtube fever: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=14896

If they are switched and nothing is working you could have cooked that side motor and esc, that is assuming your wiring is correct.
