yeah i read that before. but that seems like way to "nice" setups. im already running the DF with a nemesis blue 13XL on 6s at around 40 i guess as i dont have a gps (can find video of it in the video section).
that motor have a KV of 1283 and the 1521 is 1577.

but looking at that chart realy make me wonder about warranty.
it clearly state that a neu 1521 1.5d on 4s is NOT coverd by warranty. are those motors realy not good for more then 25 000 rpm ?

D winds are amp hogs and ESC killers. 6s2p on a 1521/1Y in a 40" 12 lb. rigger pulls 150 to 170 amps at 40,000 rpm and 72 mph according to Eagletree. If you don't have an Eagletree Get one asap the are way cheaper than ESC's and motors.

used to have one but it diddent like the water when i took a dive

im not out to do 70+ mph. the reason why i was looking for a 1515 in the first place was to replace the nemesis blue 13xl im running now to save a few amps and maybe get a little better speed. when i run my 13xl now for about 5 minutes both the motor comes in at between 93 and 104F depending on the water temp and the ESC is cool to the tuch.
after a run i normaly put back 3500-4000 mah.

would the 1521 use more amp on the same prop then the 1515 or the 13xl for that matter ? i am wierdly happy with the speed im getting now ( i know. more then a few is shaking thair heads at me now)

Somebody please check me on this as I'm relatively new to the brushless motor deal, but here's what I think---

Both the 1521 and 1515 come with ~1500kv option-- The 1521 has more "headroom" to push a heavier boat than the 1515. If both neu motors have the same KV, I would think they would have the same speed, and if your hull turns out to be too heavy for the 1515 then it would start to overheat, right? If you can't get your hands on the 1515 to test it, seems to me the safer route is to go with the 1521 if your boat is >30".

One other thing to note is I think the mounting holes are different between these two motors-- the 1515 will fit the standard 540 can mounting (I replaced my fieago 540 with the 1515 and it fits). I think the 1521 mounting holes are in a different place...

I ran the 1521/1y in a DF33 for about a year. It is the best setup I ever had. You could interchange between 4s to 6s with only a prop change. Boat will run in the high 40s on 4s and low to mid 60's on 6s. You should get the 1521/1y it will run cooler and is for sure a beast of a motor. You won't regret it. Comparing Feigao to Neu is apples and oranges.

the mounting holes for the 1521 is 1" 25,4mm were the 540 standard is 25mm but im shure i can take off the 0,4mm on my exsisting mount without any problems.

the 1515 is a bigger\stronger motor then the nemesis blue thats in the hull now witch i tested with gps to 63,8 mph today Ü so the 1515 sould be ok.

Most of the time on 4s was a m645 and on 6s was a m445.

not going to try my hydra on 6s. dont have good exsperiance with those on more then 4s
