    alternative to NEU 1515 1.5y

whats the alternative to the NEU 1515 1.5y ? steven is out of stock

running a DF 33" cyber storm on 6s and a etti 150 race. plans are to run on 642 and\or 645.

was told that the 580L wouldent fit with water jacket with this mount http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80230 (wil make suport for the back of the motor)

been looking at the castle neu 1520 but the rpm`s is starting to get way up there already with the 1515 1.5y
so any ideas would be apritiated

Have a look to TENSHOCK 2250 series or 2750 series

I always try to buy from Steven first because of the great forum he runs here, but sometimes he's out of stock...

You can look at neu motors home page and find "where to buy" link for other suppliers.

how would the 1521 1y "hold up" vs the 1515 1.5y wont that 1521 be a little much for a DF 33" cyberstorm ?

I would think the 1521/1Y would be the choice to go with. Should run cooler as well.
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

going to ask steven when he exspects water jackets to the 1521.

still. dont 35 000 rpm sounds a little much on a mono ? or is that cool runnings for a neu ?
sorry for the "dumb" questions. im used to feiago

I'm running a 1515 1.5y (1500kv) on my syncron which is around 28-29inches. I can run 4S with a huge prop (so far I've tested up to an x448 with a 6min run and the motor was *cool* to the touch, I get to test an x450 tomorrow...). Or, I can run 6S with a smaller prop.

i only have 3S batteries so for me 6s is my only real option in my DF 33".

hows the amp drain when you running large props on 4s for it ?
i am imagening that a neu wil need less amp to turn the same prop then my nemesis blue 13XL even if the neu is higher KV then the feiago. so then i should be able to prop down and still have about the same speed as i have now.

Get the 1521/1y NOT the 1515 and you will be much happier. Talk to Jim at South River.

I have not done any testing on the 6S side yet-- but if it were me I'd start in the 440 range and work up from there... On 4S, the 642 was too small on my boat.

This link provides guidance on motor size depending hull type/size and gives battery and prop starting point recommendations.
