EMS gets priority, on mail packing, sorting, and postage, registered does not.

I have a few rules for buying from HK

    1. Make sure the item is in stock
    2. If you want it fast go pay the price locally
    3. Dont expect technical support, the price you pay doesn't cover that, only intermittent customer service.

Last order for me took a fair few days to ship about 8 or so, as it was registered not ems, once shipped I had it about 3 days after the tracking number says it was shipped.

HobbyKing have Hong Kong post trucks leaving from their dispatch scanning the parcels in then they sit at Hong Kong post for a bit before being shipped apparently.

        Dear Customer,

Thank you for your email and sorry for the delay. I checked the order#2001186415 as per your request. It left our warehouse on 24/05/2010 and the tracking no. is EA048940299HK. Please kindly notice that Hong Kong International Airport is conducting extra screening and creating delays on all orders with large batteries. We advise customers to avoid ordering large Lipoly battery (above 2200mAh) for the next 14 days. In some cases these parcels may be delayed at the airport. EMS/Air Parcel tracking will not show during this period. Please kindly check your account for further information a few days later.

        Thank you for your understanding.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

        Best Regards,

        Ivy

well this was the reason given to me anyway. i ordered lipos and wanted them for memorial day weekend. lol. so much for that. this is the only time i have ever had an issue though so i am sure i will still be happy once they finally get here. unless its snowing outside then. lol.

New international shipping rules preclude the shipment of any batteries over 5400mAh! The big packs can no longer be had! Even Hyperion has had to discontinue it's 5500-7500 (or larger) packs. If you want that capacity, you will now have to build your own by paralleling smaller packs.

Bummer for sure! We have some customers wanting the bigger packs but no can do.

Latest & Greatest from Hobby King:

              Air transport delay, now resolved.

The previous weeks airport delays were due to increased parcel screening. Thankfully these delays are now behind us and we can focus on clearing the order backlog.
For those customers with a parcel thats not showing a tracking number correctly, or non at all, please do not be concerned, this may be due to a shortage in EMS/Air Parcel forms.
Because of this, your parcel may arrive before the tracking numbers register on the website.

We plan to be back to 24hr ship-out times within 2 days.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding during this period.

This is old but Hobby City is in Hong Kong and you don't get paid (cents per hour) there it's not the same as other parts of China. Even at minimum salary you make over $600 USD a month and that goes lots further there then it would here. You get paid monthly anyways.

People in Hong Kong have plenty of money. I've not been to any other country where I see Rolls Royce and Lamborghini's on every corner every day like it was common.

The stuff they sell is obviously made in other parts of China where the labor is extremely cheap but it's not that way in Hong Kong.

That's my point exactly. My statement is not directed specifically toward Hobby King. When things go on back order it takes the manufacture time to make and fill their huge orders. Now if the manufacture employs more people to build and fill orders faster, their price will be reflected directly to the consumer.

This board is an awesome resource.

I came in here to ask a couple of questions regarding Hobby King shipments, and after reading both pages they have already been answered.

I did get a reply on my two orders this morning. They are at 7 and 8 days out at this point. Neither has been shipped. They tell me one is "about" to go out.

I have order several products from Steven OSE and he rocks!!!! That is for sure.
But just think for a moment how much staff HK is shipping out everyday.......
They are dealing with the whole world. Since my first order with them 2 years ago this is the first time they have delays.... Not even their fault...
I allways had my order sent to me 7-10 b days. HK to Canada.... How many miles and oceans and customs and other things we do not need to pay for, that normally we should...? Are you calling this long unconvinient wait????
Ohh wait, try to sent staff from Canada to US or from there back to Canada..... Ha...
So yes it may be little frustraiting just becouse we need this or other part for the upcomming event on saturday but for the most part I will give them a little credit....
For everything alse is our local Hobby Store and they not allways have product we need in stock...
                            Just my few cents....

Robert, I agree really. Just started this thread to see if I was the only one having issues. I do go in with an expectation of waiting a long time for anything from them. But, seriously, 7 days and not even shippped? The packages used to come fairly quickly (7-12days) from point of order to my door. Lately though, it seems like a train wreck.

I only order from overseas that which I absolutely can not get from Steven. His service is FAST, accurate, and he provides the BEST forum in the world.

My experience with shipping from HK has been anywhere from a week to three weeks, even when I've paid extra for EMS. Not a very good track record but if you're desperate to pay less then you have to live with it.
