    Mike,

I haven't had a chance to actually drive the actual Production boat yet, but the last production sample I drove was getting right at 40mph using older Lipos and the stock ProBoat plastic Miss Elam prop. It did about 42-43 with an ABC 42x55.

That boat was quite a bit heavier, however. Since then, the outboard has been refined and re-engineered and should be MUCH ligher now.

There are two BIG caps on that ESC... I didn't have much control over that part. Just told them I wanted a 60A ESC and that's what they gave me. Didn't have the option to change that, as it's made at a certain place. Should hold up will for most uses.

As soon as I have mine here (suppose to be next week), I'll post some more detailed pictures and a report on it, so You can see how the cells go in, etc. It's really pretty slick how it's layed out. You can put two 2S 5000mah packs in it, laying end to end, and they will be BELOW the deck (which is partially why I V'd the tunnel... can lower the radio box that way) and have it balance out perfectly. One of the packs actually slides up under the ESC, which is sitting elevated up on a platform. Can ALSO fit a since 4S pack in there, and it still balances well. Wasn't easy to get that all to work out, but sure looks simple now that it's done...

Yeah, I bet if they free up a lot of weight the boat will do 45-46 mph with ease. That is cool you have the option to run either style pack. That should help guys that have run small hydroplanes with split packs make the switchover! Quite ingenious move! I look forward to the pics of your own boat. Talk soon, Mike

Now we need some reverse flex cables for twin hulls.

                  Who makes them?

Is there a problem running octura couplers with reversed cable?

Steve unless I am comepletly misunderstanding you...you sell the reverse cables in YOUR store

                    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...rod=hug-b6666r

as far as the coupler issue .....think about it.....if a reverse cable is spinning clockwise and the standard coupler "nut" also tightens in the clockwise rotation...... then there could be an issue with the nut coming loose...with a standard flex that spins counter clockwise there isnt a chance of that because standard collet nuts tighten in a clockwise rotation so its ok

                    we need reverse collet nuts

I seriously doubt that the collect would loosen unless you didn't tighten it properly

This just maybe my ticket for my first tunnel. Looks good. Good job!

No need for reverse collets on reverse cables.

in my opinion any spinning drive shaft or flex thats held on by a spinning nut...then the nut shout be tightened in the oposite direction...its just common sence

if they make reverse flex so you dont have to worry about the flex unwinding then there should be reverse collets

                          again....jmho

Lock nuts work just fine. Double nuts work well too.

They will not come apart like that...it is a thread on a thread. If you were actually threading it on then heck yes it woudl come apart.

If not there are always set screw versions to fix that issue.
