Nice! Sweet looking ride, and great price! I take it, the motor is a new one at 1800kv? Does it have a 3/16" prop shaft?
Motor is an 1800KV version of the BJ26 motor. Same size, etc., just different KV. Likely a little less torque, in exchange for a bit more KV. Can't really use all the torque of the BJ26 motor on most OPC boats anyhow, so wanted to match the KV more to the prop size that tunnels like.
Propshaft is a standard 3/16"... it's designed to be interchangeable with a standard K&B 3.5 stub...

Fantastic! I love this. It takes all the guess work out of building a FE tunnel for tunnel newbies like myself. I gonna have to get my hands on one of these bad boys!
I don't know what to say. Did you let Tommy Lee know?
Hahahaha... I was wondering if someone would make that leap...
Actually, I DID talk to Rod about doing something with my current boat and he gave me permission from both him and Tommy Lee, but after running it, it doesn't work well for FE, in my opinion, so I did something from scratch. Did use some of the ideas from that boat, however, but then, every boat made has features from other boats. Geometry is certainly different... bottom is different as well. Kind of like what you are doing with your boats vs. the WoodStuffs; A combination of things we know work and things we think will work.
Drew the drawings by hand, built the plug from scratch (wood over foam), shaped the cowl from scratch as well. I DID use the same styleing for the cowl, because there wasn't another one out there like it and I LOVE that style. It's all hand shaped. Don't have the plugs still, but have pics of all the stages of development.
Originally was going to be a Bud Light boat, like the one in the pic below, but Bud stopped sponsoring so those deals fell through. I'm glad, because I like the name and graphics we can up with.
Should be an excellent boat. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Thats awesome. I am really glad to hear that! Congrats on the boat, and the outboard cowling looks really cool. I might put one of those on my Woodstuff 28! Again, congrats, and the videos looked great. How many cap banks are on that controller? I kinda like the look of it. Also, what speeds are you getting out of it?
