Just got this on Friday (thanks Jim) and I have run it three times so far. I am trying to get it set up so it will run smoothly and self right 99.9% of the time.

I have adjusted the driveline with about 1 degree down and reset the turn fins slightly. The battery placement seems to be key and in this picture it shows the best position I have found so far.

Who has/has run one of these before with these batteries (same ones I run in my micro hydro) and can make any suggestions to improve handling and self-righting?

Stock and with the battery back a bit more, it would get a wicked speed wobble at full speed and dump and stay on it's back

...you need to swich to 5.5mm connectors...

i have same boat and i think you will find this interesting...
i have(HAD) the same problem...but not anymore...wfo now.........

What did you do?

I started mounting the battery further back and that has helped.

don't ever think of buying this boat from anybody
but jim(sailr) even if his is twice the price(and its not)
thanx to him my boat is kicken a$$....
dead heat against my buddys jollymotor(but cut turns like a knive)
got pics.....

actually the stickers get me only another 3mph but i'll take what i can get..lol
sailr is correct as far as handling goes but i also added the jollymotor rod boot
and turned the rudder assembly around and theaded the hole so i could add a nylon screw for the rudder safety.

also tinned the flex cable end for a snug fit and to
stop the damage from the set screws

I have one of these and have never had a problem with self-righting. Move the batteries further back...

trim tabs made mine rock solid..even in chop....

Its a floating speed bump for our larger boats

Never had a problem with "speed wobble" chine walk or self righting...always pops back up and skips right over chop. Don't need tabs either. If you get the CG right there is no problem with 3S1P 2200 mAh batteries...the boat rips...

If the boat chine walks you have exceeded the maximum hull speed...just like us big boys...and it can be very scary!

boat is stock...just wicked fast for its size...
added trim tabs and can hold WFO all day long...
speeds @ 29-31mph on gps
notice the jollymotor has to keep cuting the courner to keep up...
