I found this on CL and thought I would share.
Someone should buy this.
Exact 1/3 scale replica of the REAL Miss Budweiser Hydroplane hull which was driven to wins by Tom D'Eath while under Bernie Little.
This replica is believed to have been commissioned by Bernie Little and was used for display at the hospitality events at the races and other functions.
Built by the same people who built the real boat! This replica is of very heavy construction of wood and fiberglass, it took four men to carry it. All of the running gear parts are of heavy welded stainless steel. The hanger straps are sufficient to display the boat while suspended!
All of the graphics are painted on the base layers under the clear coat. There are no stickers or decals.
This all makes for a very cool and one of a kind or one of only a few conversation and display piece.
As far a questions regarding the possibility of making a working self powered R/C toy.........
You would probably know better than me if you are asking. There appears to be control cables for the rudder and front elevators with room for other components under the removable cockpit. The engine cowling is removable, there is quite a bit of room, the propeller shaft exits the hull and goes to the prop through what appears to be a workable cutlass bearing. I do not think that there is a water tight stuffing box. The engine bay would need to be water proofed, it is uncoated wood.
Length 11'
Width 6'
Height 32"
Weight 350 lbs. approx.
