    New Water cooled Outrunner design

Saw this and thought it was pretty neat design. Wish they would make them larger. RPM is there but wonder about torque.

The neat thing is how they are getting water thru it.

I told scott hed make some money if he made these coolers for outrunners that dont have them like his screamer but no response.

Well the rpm is there for smaller boats but not sure how much it can take. Might be worth trying one on 2S and a 25" boat.

They are cooling the front motor plate and bearing. A similar result can be had with a cooled motor mounting plate.

Look at the flow...it goes around the motor...not just the front plate.

Twice the power with Direct Water Injection

Take a look at this thread, done with a larger motor.

                    http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ight=outrunner

I tried the setup with 6S, and it was uncontrollably overpowered, flipped, wiped out my eagle tree recorder. This works with a jet screamer 1400 as well, easy to retrofit existing motors! I estimate that you can double the power level limits.

It sounds like he's just dumping water inside the motor, not through a
                      'channel'.

It seems to me that putting water into any moving part would really slow the motor down or cause it to draw a lot of amps because of the drag?

                        Just try it.

That is right, no channel, just dumping into Jet Screamer from top, and HB from bottom were it gets drawn up with the air pumped by the built-in centrifugal pump in the HB.

The amount of water is small compared to the power level so the motor is not significantly slowed down. Try dripping some water into a running outrunner and see for yourself. Then try completely immersing a running inrunner with vent holes at the ends. You will likely be surprised.

May I ask where you got this picture from, please?
I would like to see larger version of it....

It is on a photo in the first message link. I was beginning to think no one was going to notice this cooling feature.
