Why is that a DUMB question Castle makes a CM36 9000kv motor for 1/10 scale on road cars......................
speedsport a little more info would be helpful like, what do you planing on putting it in? 8900kv is way to high for boat use unless you are running a very small boat on one 3.7v lipoComment

Answer..no boat...no prop...no battery and 8900Kv.
That is why I responded that way. Newbies do some research first and most of you do.

The only way is using a gearbox for that. That is the difference in boats and cars.
We used to run lots of gear boxes with big props. 8900KV is pretty extreme but certainly could be geared right for smaller rigs.Comment

I am new to brushless and new to electric boating. Ive only had nitros in the past.
Where would I find gear boxes for some thing like this? The motor is quite small in physical size. I'm into the mini and micro boats.Comment

The only 2 gearbox setups I know of are the FDM tranny and the Hughey gearbox. Both are pretty big so they probably are not suited to small hull. I bet the heli and airplane community have something. Why not just get a small 380 or so motor and not spend money on a tranny? Small B/L motors are very cheap, much less then a tranny I bet.

Ok I have this hull http://www.bbyracing.com/elecmicrohulls.asp its The Micro Patriot. I have a 30A esc laying around and 1/8 flex shaft etc. What would be a good size motor and prop for this hull? I have a extra X427 prop but I think it will be to big. Also I would prob run it on a 7.4 lipo pack.
All though I see they use a X431 prop so it may work.
ThanksComment

Steve has some Short and long motors here. He is waiting on some 380Xls that would be a great match.Comment

methinks that if I were to go the brushless route, that one of these http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...-380-L&cat=116 in either 7 or 8 turn flavours would work pretty well.Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in
