    Blackjack 55 conversion

Seeing as I have 2 blackjack 55's, 1 being just a hull. I was interested in throwing in an electric motor. I'm not looking to race this thing or have it go like a bat out of hell but some decent speed would be nice.

Anyone have an idea as to which companies make electric motors big enough for this? If I need 2 motors to power it thats fine but 1 motor would be better as the hull is already designed around a single power source.

Yeah that's gonna make the boat too expensive. even though it's probably far better. I'm trying to keep the total price (batts, esc, motor) to around 1000.00

The motor Wakeboard posted should surely work for alot less $$

Here's a quality speedo you could run on 12s for lower 30's rpms.

Get the 800kv version of the little screamers when its available and then get the new 240HV SwordFish ESC that's soon to arrive. Both from OSE. You should be able to run on 8S for speeds right about 40mph. Move up to 10S and the hull could be in the 50's.

Should not be a problem if you get the power available to the water and your running loose. I always wanted to push that hull myself. I dont see why it cant do the 50's with ease on FE. Now pushing it beyond is another issue. Aerodynamics come into play as speed increases. I have a couple hulls that have more then enough power to continue with acceleration but hit the wall right around 50 and 60. Theres only so much some hulls will take. And Cats seem to be among the worst.

i would suggest selling that hull on ebay. It will definately sell. then go buy a real cat hull that will be able to handle speed and corner equally as well. (Aeromarine)

Like I said I'm not looking for smoking performance on this hull otherwise I would have bought a mean machine or better hull. I just have this hull kicking around and wanted to get it running on electric instead of gas so I had a choice of power plants.
