Man let me tell you its the only way to have credibility here. You have to show some of these guys that whomever they idolize over a 70 plus mph boat is nobody special. Some have no real experience but seem to think they give the best advice on ose. When you prove them wrong they get mad and call you names. A real cancer to the progression of the sport. My point was to show that we ran 70 plus 20 plus years ago no big deal it doesnt make you special . Join the club.No ego cause I can take a 12 gauge blow this boat up and move on.my point is it needs to be that easy for anyone or you are associating with the small voice in your head . That is ego.I just want other members to realize that whom you take your advice from might not be the expert he or she thinks they are.Be safe number 1, investigate for yourself number 2 ,use any calc program you can find versus listening to lobbyist lies about motors and products because math doesnt lie,And most important use common sense. I seen a member tell someone its okay to sumbmerge batteries in water for two hours because they did it and nothing happened. Now you tell me what does common sense tell you? Plus read between the lines that means their boat sank lol. Ive never had a boat sink thats what floatation is for duh.The member took that advice too. WOW you feel me?Ive seen a member tell another that weight didnt matter as long as the boat floated. What does common sense tell you? The boat will float with nothing in it that dont mean it will run. Not to mention boat hulls all have a weight limit to ensure it stability and handling. Just dont go thinking a kid with a 70mph boat is some guru cause he can by all the fast stuff with mommys wallet. Just an example. Now that thats dealt with foward all unrelated comments as they pertain to working on this andy brown rigger to your own thread. This isnt the open topic thread this is the thread on MY boat .If the comments not technical it wont help this boat so put it somewhere else. Thanks big guy Ill leave you to debate all that unrelated stuff with those members they love to get off topic. I truly love this sport so if you cant help leave me be.

Open Rigger at last years Internats was won with a 6s2p 1527/1y cc240 speedo and a worked 1655 prop in a boat your size. Sounds like a good place to start and you can always go to 8s for SAWS and that's 15 years experience.

My man thats what I like . I figured you needed at least a 1527 to get going. But im not gonna carve my boat up. What hull were you running?what was your draw on a 1655 . Im glad you called out that prop I told guys to try 16 series props but as I mention the so called experts said no ill never turn a 16 series in fe. This is why I need to restrict my thread to talking to relevants that have had the actual experiences to speak on it.This isnt a toy or a sport boat so im only looking for real world rigger data as well as advice from guys who do it and have done it.Originally this boat sported a 1667 on an ops 65. Id like to make it back to that prop with an fe setup. I wonder if I need to step up to a 2215 if i wanna spin that prop

The 1527/1Y will spin that prop, back cut 1/8 inch and mild cup on the tips is all it takes. Remember these are all out RACE only setups. Make sure the rigger is running loose and turing well first. Is will eat up the straight in about 3 seconds!!!

Xfactor I do apologise my friend I missed your post on this hull. I am fitting my hull to run a 1527/1y with 6s2p. I am able to fit 12s in this boat where the tanks were. This hull was for the man himself, Mr. Brown. I really dont know if I want to start tearing it down. But what the heck. You dont know what it does until you do it. Here is a little pic of my Mongoose.
